Role Overview

The Director, Health Navigation Solutions Technology & Engineering is accountable for the technology strategy, engineering delivery, modernization, and reliability of Alight’s Health Navigation solutions. This leader translates product and business priorities into scalable, secure solutions that improve participant, client, and operational outcomes.

Working across Product, Operations, Delivery, Data and AI, and enterprise technology teams, the Director balances near-term delivery and stability with long-term modernization, simplification, and innovation.

Purpose and Strategic Outcomes

  • Develop and execute the Health Navigation technology roadmap, aligned with product strategy, client commitments, and enterprise priorities.

  • Evolve Health Navigation toward scalable, secure, composable, and reusable platform capabilities while reducing complexity and technical debt.

  • Accelerate product delivery, engineering productivity, and operational efficiency through modern engineering practices, automation, and responsible AI adoption.

  • Deliver reliable, resilient, and cost-effective solutions that improve participant and client outcomes.

Solution Engineering and Architecture

  • Own end-to-end engineering execution for Health Navigation, including architecture, application engineering, integrations, and platform support.

  • Translate product and business strategy into a sequenced, measurable technology roadmap.

  • Ensure solutions are scalable, resilient, extensible, secure, and supportable.

  • Drive modernization, simplification, standardization, and reuse through shared services, APIs, components, and enterprise platforms.

  • Establish engineering, architecture, quality, DevSecOps, observability, and documentation standards.

Product, Delivery, Data and AI Alignment

  • Partner with Product, Delivery, and Operations to translate roadmaps into scalable, configurable, and operable solutions.

  • Collaborate with Data and AI leaders to embed data, analytics, AI, and GenAI into participant journeys and business processes.

  • Use AI and automation to improve participant experience, operational efficiency, decision support, and engineering productivity.

  • Promote responsible AI-assisted development, testing, support, and operational practices aligned with security, privacy, risk, and governance standards.

Reliability, Security and Operational Excellence

  • Own solution availability, performance, resiliency, capacity, observability, security, and production readiness.

  • Partner with enterprise technology and support teams to establish effective build-to-run handoffs and clear L1, L2, and L3 accountability.

  • Drive timely incident resolution, disciplined root-cause analysis, sustained remediation, and continuous improvement using service, quality, delivery, and cost metrics.

  • Ensure compliance with enterprise security, privacy, risk, architecture, and governance requirements.

Client, Business and Delivery Impact

  • Serve as the primary technology partner to Health Navigation leadership, providing clear recommendations, trade-offs, risks, and delivery commitments.

  • Support client engagements related to solution capabilities, roadmap, innovation, service health, and contractual commitments.

  • Manage strategic vendors and delivery partners for outcomes, quality, capacity, commercial performance, and risk.

  • Communicate progress, dependencies, decisions, and recommendations clearly to senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.

Leadership and Organizational Impact

  • Build and develop a high-performing organization of engineering managers, architects, engineers, and technical professionals.

  • Establish clear roles, decision rights, and accountability across internal and partner teams.

  • Lead organizational design, workforce planning, succession, talent development, performance management, and retention.

  • Foster a culture of ownership, innovation, engineering excellence, continuous improvement, and client focus.

  • Lead organizational and technology change through clear communication, disciplined execution, and stakeholder engagement.

Experience and Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive technology and engineering leadership experience in large-scale enterprise environments, including responsibility for client-facing platforms or solutions.

  • Proven experience leading software engineering, solution architecture, modernization, production reliability, and complex technology delivery at scale.

  • Proven knowledge of modern architectures and engineering practices, including cloud, APIs, microservices, integrations, data platforms, DevSecOps, observability, and AI/ML.

  • Demonstrated success translating product and business strategy into executable technology roadmaps and measurable outcomes. Experience managing strategic vendors, delivery partners, budgets, capacity, and commercial outcomes.

  • Experience in healthcare, health navigation, benefits administration, clinical solutions, or customer engagement platforms is preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; advanced degree preferred.

Salary Pay Range

Minimum :

175,000.00 USD

Maximum :

195,000.00 USD
