About the Team

As a member of the Strategy, Analytics, and Insights team, you will join a small group with big impact, delivering insights to colleagues across program delivery, product development, and strategic outreach. The team drives clear visibility on student and higher ed engagement, highlights areas of opportunity, and builds resources that power insights for internal and external audiences.

About the Opportunity

College Board is seeking a Director, Higher Education Data Strategy & Analytics to advance our core institutional data assets and translate them into strategic insight that helps students, families, and the institutions that serve them to make better decisions. In this role, you will own the strategy, quality standards, and roadmap for College Board's flagship data programs like the Annual Survey of Colleges, author the Affordability market measurement framework, generate analyses that support institutional and student reach, and deliver insights that grow international Higher Education recognition of SAT and AP.

This is a strategic and highly cross-functional role. You will partner closely with colleagues across Strategic Higher Education, Financial Aid Programs and Services, Research, and other program teams to build data infrastructure, generate insights, and drive decisions that advance College Board's mission and market position.

In this role, you will:

Decide changes to content, timing, and validation; and identify and support resolutions of cross-division trade-offs.
  • Author the annual roadmap and post-cycle findings, each with clear recommendations that modernize technology, strengthen process efficiency and quality, and grow institutional participation.
  • Benchmark against leading programs to challenge legacy collection processes, and pace modernization to improve data quality and completeness without putting response rates at risk.

Shape the Affordability Analytics Framework & Agenda (40%)

  • Build an Affordability market measurement framework. Generate market segmentation, prioritization, targeting, and related analyses that advance institutional and student reach, increasing the number of students and families that understand what college is likely to cost and how to afford their education
  • Deliver reports, dashboards, opportunity scoring, and related analyses on our Financial Aid Programs and Services (e.g., CSS Profile, Net Price Calculator, MyIntuition), that drive strategic recommendations for Program & Product Managers
  • Develop a suite of usage and benchmarking reports for colleges that increases the value, adoption, and retention of these services.

Strengthen SAT/ AP Recognition and Enrollment Leader Engagement (20%)

  • Support the expansion of SAT and AP recognition policies at international universities by analyzing data on international student mobility, and developing internal/ external reports and actionable intelligence to help colleagues to identify opportunities and secure new policies
  • Generate market analyses, data tools, and insights that strengthen College Board’s thought leadership and drive policy adoption across strategic outreach/ recruitment, admission, financial aid, and retention

How You'll Work

Decision rights: This role makes decisions on tool/ platform requirements for ASC/ APCP, content for CDS and related articles, and designs for internal dashboards.
