Director, HR – Italy

Role Summary

As Director, HR – Italy, you will lead the People & Culture agenda and local HR delivery for STACK Infrastructure across Italy, supporting employees and leaders in our data centre operations, development, construction, engineering and corporate functions. You will be the senior HR contact for the country, combining trusted business partnering with accountability for compliant, consistent and effective HR services.

Working closely with Italy’s leadership and the EMEA People & Culture team, you will help shape workforce and organisational priorities, develop local HR capability and ensure regional policies and initiatives work effectively in the Italian context. This is a visible, hands-on leadership role with the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on our growing business and employee experience.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead the HR agenda for Italy, advising country and functional leaders on workforce priorities, organisational effectiveness, people risks and employee engagement.

· Own the quality and consistency of local HR delivery across the employee lifecycle, including contracts, onboarding, employee changes, transfers, promotions, offboarding and HR records.

· Ensure compliance with Italian employment legislation, applicable collective agreements and company policies; oversee documentation, audits and appropriate escalation of material risks.

· Lead employee relations matters, including performance concerns, grievances, disciplinary issues and organisational change, ensuring fair, pragmatic and well-documented decisions.

· Oversee local payroll coordination, employee data accuracy and HR administration, working with Finance, external providers and EMEA HR Operations to deliver reliable services.

· Lead, coach and develop the Italy HR team, setting clear service standards and building effective partnerships with managers, employees and EMEA specialist teams.

· Partner with business leaders and Finance on workforce planning, organisational design, headcount forecasts, critical skills and succession risks to support business growth.

· Drive effective local delivery of performance, talent, succession and learning initiatives, coaching managers and providing insight on capability and development needs.

· Partner with Talent Acquisition on hiring plans, local market considerations and compliant offer and contracting processes, while supporting a positive candidate-to-employee transition.

· Implement EMEA People & Culture policies, processes and systems locally, balancing regional consistency with Italian requirements and identifying opportunities for improvement.

· Use workforce data, employee feedback and operational insight to inform decisions, strengthen engagement and report country priorities and emerging risks to EMEA leadership.

What You’ll Bring

· Significant experience in a senior HR generalist, HR Business Partner or country HR leadership role, with broad responsibility for employees and HR operations in Italy.

· Strong working knowledge of Italian employment law, collective agreements, employee relations and local HR compliance, with sound judgement on sensitive matters.

· Experience overseeing employee lifecycle processes, payroll coordination, HR administration and external service providers, with a focus on accuracy and service quality.

· Experience leading and developing HR colleagues and building effective relationships with senior leaders, managers and employees.

· Proven ability to support workforce planning, organisational change, performance management, talent development and succession planning.

· Comfortable working across operational or site-based and professional populations; experience in engineering, construction, infrastructure or another technical environment would be welcome.

· A practical, commercially aware approach, combining strategic perspective with hands-on delivery, integrity and the confidence to challenge constructively.

· Fluent spoken and written Italian and English; able to work from Milan and travel to other STACK locations in Italy as needed.

What we Offer

· Salary Range (Gross Annual Salary - RAL): € 80,000 - € 100,000 + 25% performance bonus.

· Contract type: Italian CCNL Commerce (Commercio - Terziario, Distribuzione e Servizi).

· Meal vouchers and corporate welfare program.

· Health insurance and access to the complementary pension fund, in accordance with the collective agreement.

· Work on critical digital infrastructure, supporting the development and operation of some of Europe's most advanced data centre environments.

· Build your future with STACK, gaining exposure to large-scale projects and clear opportunities for professional growth across a fast-growing European platform.
