Position Title: Director, Knowledge Management & Communications Position Type: Regular Full-Time Department: COO's Office (MOMENTUM) Location: Washington, DC - Hybrid Salary Range: $102,000 - $132,500 - $163,000 Note: The posted salary range reflects the full range of Corus' Director pay grade and does not represent the anticipated hiring salary for this position. The target hiring range for the Director, Knowledge Management & Communications is expected to fall between the minimum and midpoint of the pay grade, based on program budget, internal equity and experience. Position Summary: Corus International is seeking a Director, Knowledge Management & Communications to join the MOMENTUM team in the Washington, DC office. This hybrid position is based at our headquarters in Washington, DC, with in-office days on Tuesday and Wednesday each week. The Director, Knowledge Management & Communications reports to the Senior Director, Technical Services, MERL, and leads knowledge management, communications, and data visualization across the Lifesaving Health Assistance (LHA) program and supports complementary MIHR priorities, particularly the Ebola Response and MERL-related closeout for non-continuing countries. The Director translates MERL and technical data into clear, audience-appropriate knowledge products, including quarterly report content, infographics, and other data visualizations, and leads closeout documentation, final reporting, and lessons-learned synthesis for MIHR countries transitioning out of the project. The position also leads the development and maintenance of LHA's knowledge management architecture and supports external social media content in coordination with Corus's central Communications team, ensuring that all external-facing materials comply with USG/DoS branding and marking requirements. This position is funded through a specific project and is subject to the continued availability of funding. Responsibilities: Knowledge Management & Reporting Direct closeout documentation, final reporting, and lessons-learned synthesis for MIHR countries transitioning out of the project. Lead development of the LHA milestones and deliverables dashboard in coordination with the Director, Data Systems, ensuring donor validation requirements are met, and country teams provide accurate, timely information for cross-country reporting. Oversee quality assurance and content coordination for LHA quarterly and annual donor reports, partnering with country and technical teams to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely submission. Lead the capture and synthesis of lessons learned across LHA and MIHR's Ebola Response, translating evidence into practical recommendations for adaptive management and current and future program design. Establish knowledge management and reporting standards, templates, and processes that effectively capture and communicate project activities, results, and learning. Direct the development, organization, and maintenance of audience-appropriate knowledge products and a central repository of reports, technical data, and lessons learned for internal and donor audiences. Oversee and approve consultant costs, invoices, and budget allocations for knowledge management, design, and communications contracts, deliverables, and activities within the Director's scope of responsibility. Perform other knowledge management and reporting responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Director, Technical Services, MERL. Data Visualization Direct the development of compelling infographics and other data visualizations that translate complex project data into clear, accessible insights on results and progress. Partner with MERL and data systems teams to establish quality standards and ensure visualizations accurately represent validated milestone and indicator data. Communications Serve as the primary liaison between LHA and Corus's central Communications team, coordinating the development, review, and dissemination of external communications products. Lead the development of external social media content and provide relevant photos, stories, and other materials for organizational use, as needed. Ensure all external-facing materials comply with USG/DoS branding and marking requirements and align with Corus communications standards. Supervisory: This is an individual contributor role; the Director does not have direct reports at this time, but will matrix manage country-based knowledge management and communications staff. Required Qualifications: Master's degree in international development, public health, or a related field and a minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible and relevant experience, to include experience in knowledge management, reporting, and communications for international development or global health programs, including in fragile or conflict-affected settings; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience producing donor reports, closeout documentation, and lessons-learned products for USG-funded programs. Experience with data visualization and infographic development (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Power BI, Tableau, or similar). Experience with program management software (SmartSheet or similar). Experience coordinating with a central or HQ communications team. Strong writing, editing, and synthesis skills, with the ability to translate technical and MERL data into clear, audience-appropriate products. English language fluency, written and oral. Knowledge of USG branding and marking requirements. Proficiency in data visualization and graphic design tools. Working knowledge of USG/DoS branding and marking requirements. Ability to work independently and deliver polished products under deadline, with a strong execution orientation. Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple knowledge products and reporting cycles simultaneously. Excellent interpersonal skills, able to coordinate effectively with country teams, MERL staff, and Corus's central Communications team. Ability to collaborate effectively across time zones with remote, multicultural teams. Must have authorization to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future. Working Conditions, Travel and Environment Corus has a hybrid work policy, allowing work to be done remotely; two days per week (Tuesday and Wednesday) in the office is required. The employee must be available to work outside normal office hours or weekends as required. This position must be able to travel as required for standard domestic and international business purposes (approximately 10%). While performing the duties of this job in different locations, the employee may be exposed to precarious settings under high-security risks and/or very basic living conditions and outside weather conditions, as well as to infectious diseases.
