Job Summary

The Director of Marketing, Product Marketing will own the marketing strategy and commercial outcomes for Medline’s Front Line Care divisions. This role sets product positioning, growth priorities, and the overall marketing plan, and is accountable for driving awareness, adoption, conversion, and revenue growth. The Director defines the operating model for how product marketing partners with teams, directs marketing investment, builds talent, and aligns senior stakeholders across product divisions and sales.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative, hands-on marketing leader with strong product marketing experience, business acumen, and the ability to work across product divisions, sales, and marketing teams to deliver practical strategies and programs that support frontline care customers and Medline’s growth objectives.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Marketing Strategy & Commercial Ownership
    • Own the marketing strategy and overall marketing plan for Front Line Care divisions and clinical sales teams, grounded in key business issues, customer needs, and growth objectives.
    • Be accountable for commercial outcomes across assigned divisions (awareness, adoption, share, and revenue growth) rather than volume of marketing activity.
    • Set positioning and portfolio priorities to clearly differentiate Medline offerings in the marketplace.
    • Set strategy, objectives, and requirements for marketing programs, and orchestrate internal teams (e.g., events, creative, digital, training) who own execution within their disciplines.
    • Set the go-to-market strategy for major new product introductions and priority growth opportunities across divisions.
    • Define the sales enablement strategy and requirements so the field has the tools, training, and content needed to drive growth.
    • Establish an outcome-based metrics framework for product marketing and report business impact and results to senior leadership.
  • Operating Model, Investment & Stakeholder Alignment
    • Partner with Front Line Care product divisions and Specialty sales through the strategic planning process to align marketing priorities with business growth plans. Recommend where to invest marketing budget across divisions.
    • Drive senior stakeholder alignment with division and sales leadership on strategy, priorities, investments, and results.
    • Define the operating model with marketing partners (performance marketing, insights and analytics, brand strategy and creative services, events, sales and marketing training, and corporate communications): product marketing sets strategy and requirements, and partners own execution.
    • Build product marketing capabilities across the organization by establishing repeatable processes, standards, and best practices.
  • Insights-Driven Decision Making
    • Define the key business questions for research and partner with the insights & analytics team, which owns research and analysis expertise, to answer them.
    • Turn insights into strategic decisions on positioning, portfolio priorities, go-to-market, and investment.
    • Evaluate performance against commercial outcomes and adjust strategy and investments to maximize return.
    • Ensure customer, market, and competitive insights consistently inform positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies across divisions.
  • Talent & Leadership
    • Lead and structure the product marketing team, aligning talent and resources to strategic priorities.
    • Develop and coach team members to deliver high-quality work with agility, collaboration, and accountability.
    • Attract, develop, and retain talent; build succession and career paths that grow team members’ strategic ownership and leadership.

Requirements

Work Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in product marketing, marketing strategy, product management, or related roles, with 3+ years of people leadership or team management experience.
  • Proven track record of owning marketing strategy and investment decisions that deliver measurable commercial outcomes and business growth.
  • Strong business acumen, analytical and strategic thinking skills with ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Strong communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work across functions and levels.
  • Ability to lead, manage, inspire, and foster a collaborative environment within the team and with cross-functional partners.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and persuasively.
  • Understanding of the healthcare industry, product categories, customer needs, and market trends preferred.
