ABOUT THE ROLE
The Director of Commercial is the strategy and analytics engine of the North America Mobile team. This leader translates market intelligence, client needs, operational insights, and financials into differentiated and high-performance protection and lifecycle solutions. They serve as the lead architect of differentiated client and D2C solutions that drive the business, including identifying and scaling new product and partnership opportunities and development of the core value prop and pricing, in partnership with Business Development and Solutions Management. This leader operates as a strategic integrator across product, commercial, and finance, shaping the long-term direction of the NA Mobile business. They operate as a thought partner to senior leadership, translating market, client and financial insights into enterprise-relevant growth strategies.
This is a remote role with up to 20% travel required (as needed).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leverage ongoing market and competitive analysis to identify and incubate new revenue streams from white space and emerging trends in device protection and lifecycle management.
- Understand client and prospect business context and design differentiated product solutions that create compelling win-win opportunities.
- Lead end-to-end business case development for new product and market opportunities, including sizing, economic modeling, and strategic fit with enterprise priorities; Present cases to CEO & CFO.
- Own product solution design for clients, ensuring offerings are tailored, competitive, and profitable.
- Support RFP efforts with solution design expertise, competitive positioning, and financial modeling.
- Develop and present business cases for new client proposals, initiatives, and partnerships in mobile.
- Drive cross-functional alignment across Commercial, Business Development, Product, and Finance to ensure integrated decision-making and execution.
- Serve as the primary liaison with Finance for budgeting, forecasting, and program-level P&L analysis.
- Define multi-year commercial strategy and capability roadmap for NA Mobile, aligning product, pricing, and go-to-market approaches to evolving market dynamics.
- Influence enterprise-level prioritization discussions by developing clear, compelling narratives for investment and resource allocations.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
- Business case approval for new client proposals, initiatives, and partnerships in mobile
- Client adoption and penetration of new offerings
- Analytics delivery with quality and timeliness
- Budget forecast accuracy
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, statistics, engineering, or related field; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred.
- 12+ years of experience in strategy, product management, solution consulting, or analytics with increased responsibility overtime.
- Deep expertise in mobile/wireless, broadband, device protection & lifecycle products preferred.
- Demonstrated C-Level executive engagement and alignment experience
- Strong financial modeling and business case development skills.
- Experience translating complex data into executive-level insights and recommendations.
- Proficiency with analytics platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), advanced Excel/financial modeling, and directly sourcing datasets if not available through standard reporting suites.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to present to C-suite internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience working in a matrixed organization with Finance, IT, and Operations functions.
- Ability to recruit, lead, and manage high-performing talent.

SquareTrade estimates the possible base compensation for this role, if hired in the U.S, to be in the range: Base compensation offered for this role is $230K-$250K annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
