We’re hiring a hands-on Director of Analytics to own analytics across the entire organization: business intelligence, data analysis, and marketing analytics. You’ll lead our team of BI engineers, guide our data analysts as dotted-line reports, partner with every department as their analytics leader, and report to the EVP of Data & Technology as a member of the Data & Technology leadership team. You’ll own our Omni BI platform, dbt semantic layer, data governance, and business glossary end to end, bring discipline to release management, own the business analytics content hosted on our intranet, develop a custom Improveit BI app in concert with our Full-Stack Application Engineer, and help drive our ERP (NetSuite). You’ll use AI across everything you do, partner with data science to build and deploy our models, and work with the EVP of Data & Technology and the Sr. Director of Enterprise Architecture & Data Science to stand up AI as an enterprise system.
This is a hands-on role. You’ll write SQL, build dbt models and dashboards, and do the analysis yourself every week, while you manage and develop our BI engineers and set the standards they build to.
WHAT YOU’LL DELIVER IN YOUR FIRST 90 DAYS
- Clear or schedule the executive reporting requests in the Omni backlog by December 2026, starting with ownership’s priorities
- Meet with every department leader and the BI engineering team to set analytics priorities, team goals, and an operating rhythm
- Stand up one intake queue for all reporting requests, with clear prioritization and turnaround targets
- Own the business analytics content for the intranet, putting every Omni report in one place for every associate, and define the requirements and roadmap for a custom Improveit BI app with our Full-Stack Application Engineer
- Take ownership of marketing analytics reporting, including cost per inquiry, lead source performance, and attribution, and get up to speed on our martech stack
BI strategy and operations
- Set the BI strategy and roadmap, aligned to company priorities and the Data & Technology roadmap
- Gather requirements with business leaders and translate them into KPIs, data models, and dashboard designs
- Set visualization and dashboard design standards so reports look and work the same across the company
- Manage access and row-level security for sensitive data, in line with company security and privacy policies
- Monitor and tune query performance and Snowflake compute cost for BI workloads
- Manage BI tool licenses, vendor relationships, and renewals
- Grow the analytics team as the business grows, with hiring plans, clear roles, and career paths
- Own the business analytics content hosted on the intranet: reports, dashboards, guides, and training, plus their access and adoption. The intranet and public website themselves are owned by the Full-Stack Application Engineer
- Own the Omni BI platform: dashboards, workbooks, permissions, mobile access, and self-service capabilities
- Develop a custom Improveit BI app in concert with our Full-Stack Application Engineer: you own the metrics, content, and user needs; they own the build
- Build executive and operational dashboards for Sales, Marketing, Call Center, Operations, Finance, and HR
- Run the reporting backlog in Jira with transparent priorities, so leaders know what’s coming and when
- Own data analysis across the organization: dig into trends, root causes, and opportunities for every department, and present findings with clear recommendations
- Develop and maintain marketing analytics in concert with the EVP of Data & Technology and Marketing: cost per inquiry, lead source and channel performance, attribution, campaign ROI, and lead-to-appointment-to-sale conversion
- Measure Salesforce Marketing Cloud and digital campaign performance, including website tagging and attribution accuracy
- Partner with Marketing on budget allocation, test-and-learn campaigns, and lead volume forecasting
- Build customer 360 views and segments that Marketing, Sales, and Call Center teams can act on
- Assess future markets for expansion: demographics, housing stock and age, homeownership, household income, competition, and lead and close-rate potential
- Build market-sizing and opportunity models that rank markets and forecast inquiries, sales, and payback
- Support branch real estate decisions with location analytics: drive times to customers and installers, labor availability, lease costs, and coverage of target areas
- Present market and site recommendations to the EVP and executive team, and track new branches against plan
- Work with the EVP of Data & Technology and the Sr. Director of Enterprise Architecture & Data Science to stand up and scale AI as an enterprise system, and put it to work on analytical needs across every department
- Use AI across BI, including Omni’s AI features, natural-language querying, and Snowflake Cortex, to speed up analysis and self-service
- Partner with data science to build and deploy our models, and bring their outputs (scores, forecasts, and predictions) into dashboards and the BI app
- Keep the semantic layer and business glossary AI-ready, so AI tools and agents return trusted, consistent answers
- Use AI assistants to accelerate SQL, dbt, and documentation work, with the same review and release discipline as any other change
- Apply company AI policy to every AI feature in reporting
- Own the dbt semantic layer and Omni models so metrics are defined once and used everywhere, across every system and department
- Certify core metrics (lead volume, cost per inquiry, close rate, net sales, installs, and more) with documented definitions
- Own data governance and the business glossary: standards, data ownership, lineage for key datasets, and data quality checks on reporting tables
- Help drive our ERP (NetSuite), including its reporting, enhancements, and analytics needs
- Partner with the Sr. Director of Enterprise Architecture & Data Science, who owns data integration into Snowflake, so analytics has the data it needs
- Partner with the Director of Applications, who owns Salesforce and Leap, and with other system owners on roadmaps, enhancements, and data quality so reporting stays accurate as systems change
- Bring release management discipline to BI, the semantic layer, analytics content on the intranet, and the BI app: version control, code review, separate dev, test, and production environments, and scheduled releases
- Run change control for dbt models and Omni content, with testing, sign-off, and a rollback plan before anything reaches production
- Publish release notes so stakeholders know what changed, when, and why
- Grow self-service so associates answer their own questions without a one-off request
- Create training guides and run enablement sessions for analytics content on the intranet and Omni
- Track dashboard usage and retire reports that no one uses
- Manage, hire, and develop our BI engineers: set goals, assign and review work, run one-on-ones, and lead performance reviews
- Guide our data analysts as dotted-line reports: set analysis standards, review their work, and coordinate priorities with their department leaders
- Scale analytics capacity through standards, reusable components, and self-service
- Mentor the team on SQL, data modeling, analysis, and dashboard design
- Build a team culture grounded in our Core Values and the discipline of quality, accuracy, and on-time delivery
- Partner with every department, including Sales, Marketing, Call Center, Operations, Installation, Accounting and Finance, and HR, as their analytics leader
- Run regular KPI and business reviews with department leaders, and turn their questions into an analytics roadmap
- Partner with data engineering on pipelines, with data science on model outputs, and with Marketing on campaign analytics
- Partner with our Data and IT Product Owner on martech and Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and serve as backup when needed
- Delivery: backlog size and age, request turnaround time, and on-time delivery against targets
- Adoption: active Omni users, dashboard views, and self-service share of questions answered
- Trust: certified metric coverage, data quality test pass rates, reported data issues, glossary coverage, and release success rate
- Team: BI engineering delivery against goals, team engagement, and retention
- Partnership: stakeholder satisfaction by department and roadmap items delivered
- AI adoption: natural-language query usage, AI-assisted self-service, and model outputs surfaced in reporting
- Marketing impact: cost per inquiry, channel and campaign ROI, attribution accuracy, and conversion rates by lead source
- Business impact: decisions and KPIs supported by delivered reporting and analysis, and executive satisfaction
- Bachelor’s degree in business analytics, information systems, computer science, statistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- At least ten years in analytics or BI, including four or more managing teams of BI engineers, BI developers, or analysts
- Expert SQL and strong data modeling; hands-on with a modern semantic layer (dbt, LookML, or similar)
- Experience administering a modern BI platform; Omni or Looker strongly preferred, Tableau or Power BI considered
- Hands-on Snowflake experience; familiarity with Airbyte and dbt pipelines
- Hands-on marketing analytics experience: cost per inquiry, multi-touch attribution, channel and campaign ROI, lead quality, and conversion funnels
- Strong analytical skills, including trend and root-cause analysis and basic statistics; Python or R is a plus
- Experience with market sizing, site selection, or geospatial analytics is a strong plus
- Experience with ERP data (NetSuite preferred) and enterprise systems such as Salesforce, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and Five9
- Comfortable in an Agile environment using Jira and Confluence, with disciplined release management (Git, code review, and CI/CD for dbt and BI content)
- Experience using AI in analytics (natural-language BI, LLM assistants, or Snowflake Cortex) and partnering on predictive models
- Strong data visualization and dashboard design skills, with a portfolio of work you can walk us through
- Hands-on and current: you still write production SQL, build dbt models and dashboards, and run analyses yourself
- A proven people leader who hires, develops, and retains strong BI engineers and analysts
- Experience partnering with leaders across sales, marketing, operations, and finance to drive decisions with data
- Exceptional communicator who can turn a messy executive request into a clear, trusted answer.
