Our Newest Opportunity:

Director of Analytics — Enterprise Solutions

OneDigital is seeking a technically hands-on Director of Analytics to lead our analytics and data science function and to serve as product owner for OneDigital's proprietary AI-driven, web-based analytics platform.

This is a builder-leader role with an enterprise mandate. You will own the platform's vision and roadmap, partner with regional and business-line stakeholders to decide which models and solutions get built, lead a team of four data scientists who build them, and set the broader data and analytics strategy. The platform's initial depth is in employee benefits, and you will be responsible for extending it across other OneDigital lines of business over time — building solutions and a data foundation designed to scale beyond any single practice.

The ideal candidate comes from a healthcare brokerage or benefits consulting background and already speaks the language of the work — underwriting, IBNR, plan design modeling, contribution strategy, and financial projections. Equally important, you are technical and innovative: you understand the full lifecycle of building and shipping a web application, and you have used AI to turn spreadsheet-bound underwriting processes into scalable products. An ASA or FSA designation is not required.

Responsibilities

  • Own the platform as a product — set the vision, define and maintain the roadmap, prioritize the backlog, and be accountable for adoption and business impact.
  • Engage regional leaders, consultants, and business-line stakeholders to surface pain points in how they underwrite, model, and report, and translate those into prioritized models and solutions.
  • Own the full delivery lifecycle of those tools: discovery, design, build, validation, release, user enablement, and iteration based on real usage.
  • Serve as the enterprise subject matter expert on benefits financial methodology — medical and Rx underwriting, IBNR and reserve analysis, trend development, large claimant analysis, plan design modeling and repricing, contribution modeling, multi-year projections, stop-loss evaluation, and renewal support — ensuring the methods embedded in the platform are accurate and defensible.
  • Extend the platform's reach beyond employee benefits, identifying where analytics and AI-enabled tooling can create similar value in other lines of business.
  • Act as a go-to resource for regional teams on complex client financial questions, including self-funding feasibility, funding strategy, and cost containment, building their capability rather than absorbing the work.
  • Use AI and generative AI, including coding assistants and LLM platforms such as Claude, to accelerate development and embed intelligence into analytics products.
  • Bring forward-thinking ideas and drive continuous improvement — scanning for emerging technologies and methods, and pressure-testing them through rapid prototyping.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of four data scientists (two senior, two junior), raising technical standards and building a culture of experimentation and rapid delivery.
  • Define and execute the enterprise data and analytics strategy, including how data is aggregated, structured, governed, and leveraged across business lines.
  • Partner with actuarial, brokerage, consulting, IT, and executive leadership to connect analytics investments to measurable business and client outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in employee benefits financial analytics, underwriting, or actuarial analysis within a healthcare brokerage, benefits consulting firm, carrier, or TPA. Brokerage or consulting experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated command of core benefits financial tools: underwriting, IBNR analysis, trend development, plan design modeling, contribution modeling, and financial projections.
  • Strong understanding of the employee benefits ecosystem and how brokers, carriers, employers, TPAs, and PBMs interact, with the curiosity to learn adjacent lines of business.
  • Experience owning a product, platform, or internal tool end to end — setting direction, prioritizing competing stakeholder needs, and shipping on a roadmap.
  • Working knowledge of the full web application development lifecycle. You need not be an engineering manager, but should hold a credible technical conversation about architecture, releases, and tradeoffs.
  • Hands-on technical skill building analytical tools, not just directing others who build them. Comfort with SQL and Python or R, and experience delivering web-based applications rather than spreadsheets alone.
  • Practical experience using AI and generative AI to build products, models, or automations, with a clear view of where they add value and where they don't.
  • Experience leading and developing data scientists, analysts, or other technical professionals.
  • Proven ability to build trust with regional or field teams and become the person they bring hard problems to.
  • Excellent communication skills across technical, consulting, executive, and client-facing audiences, with strong business acumen and a bias toward shipping solutions that get used.

The typical base pay range for this role nationwide is $195,000 to $220,000 per year.

Your base pay is dependent upon your skills, education, qualifications, professional experience, and location. In addition to base pay, some roles are eligible for variable compensation, commission, and/or annual bonus based on your individual performance and/or the company’s performance. We also offer eligible employees health, wellbeing, retirement, and other financial benefits, paid time off, overtime pay for non-exempt employees, and robust learning and development programs. You will receive reimbursement of job-related expenses per the company policy and may receive employee perks and discounts.
