Director of Buying and Planning

As MR MARVIS grows across Europe, more and more customers want our shorts, trousers and tops. We need a Director of Buying and Planning to make sure the right product is in the right place at the right time. This role is for someone who can shape the strategy and still enjoys getting into the details, and who wants to build the structure that lets us scale.

What started in 2016 with three founders has now grown into a team of 300+ people representing 40+ nationalities. What you’ll do

• Turn ambition into a plan: Translate our financial goals into detailed demand plans. Build accurate bottom-up forecasts based on our assortment and sales data.

• Own production planning: Be the main point of contact for our manufacturing partners. Manage production timelines, make the most of factory capacity, and make sure goods arrive on time to meet demand.

• Negotiate with impact: Lead procurement from start to finish. Negotiate prices, terms and contracts with finished-goods factories and raw material suppliers to protect our margins without compromising on quality.

• Lead merchandising: Guide and grow the merchandising team. Oversee product allocation, inventory flow and lifecycle management across all our sales channels, both online and in our stores.

• Build for scale: Bring structure where it’s missing. When a process, tool or habit keeps getting in the way, you fix it rather than work around it.

What you’ll bring

• Extensive experience: 10+ years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role in buying, planning, supply chain or procurement.

• Industry expertise: A strong background in retail, fashion, consumer goods or manufacturing. You know how inventory-driven businesses work.

• Scale-up mentality: You’ve worked in a fast-growing, dynamic scale-up. You have a track record of bringing structure, building scalable processes and driving operational excellence from the ground up.

• Hands-on by choice: You’re comfortable zooming out to shape long-term strategy and zooming in on day-to-day operational challenges.

• Analytical and data-driven: You have strong forecasting skills and use data to make better decisions.

• A strong negotiator: You negotiate well and communicate easily across cultures, from factory floors to the boardroom.

• Fashion or apparel experience: You know the rhythm of seasons, collections and long production lead times.

• Omnichannel know-how: You’ve planned and allocated stock across e-commerce and a growing retail network.

• People leadership: You’ve coached and grown planning or merchandising professionals into confident, independent team members.
