About Sequel
Every company is becoming a media company. The problem is that most of them are building their audience on someone else's platform, and handing their best data to it.
Sequel fixes that. We power webinars, virtual events, and video programs that live directly on a company's own website, so every registration, view, question, and click becomes first-party data they own. Then we put that data to work. With our new AI agents, Sequel helps marketing teams create programs faster, turn engaged viewers into pipeline, and grow their audience without adding headcount.
We call it - Human Moments, Agentic Momentum.
We're trusted by 300+ customers, some of the world's fastest growing companies like Cisco, Zoominfo, Clay, ElevenLabs, Newsweek, etc. are building their audience with Sequel. We've kept zero churn among our mid market & enterprise customers, and we've tripled our growth multiple times. We're VC-backed and recently closed a new round of funding to double down on AI and scale the team.
Director of Content @ Sequel.io
Sequel is hiring a Head of Content to own multimedia content end to end: thought leadership, the blog, our Game Changers media brand, and social, plus content strategy and distribution. You'll report directly to the VP of Marketing.
This is a one-person content team with a high degree of ownership. That means you produce the thing, you ship it, you promote it, and you measure what it did. There's no layer of people between you and the work, at least to start. You’re the right fit for this role if you are nimble and move fast, able to go from working on long-form thought leadership one day, to a same-morning reaction to something a competitor or an analyst said the next, while maintaining momentum and a high quality bar on our ongoing Game Changers video series. You'll need range and you'll need to move.
You’ll be measured on pipeline, brand reach (audience growth), engagement, and conversions, roughly in that order. The question behind everything you make is whether it pulls in a qualified audience and moves them toward a demo. That being said, we’re playing the long game. We believe in building a large, owned audience and are deeply invested in making our Game Changers media brand a leading example of what it looks like when done right.
Key responsibilities
Thought leadership and the Sequel blog, structured for the full funnel so a first read eventually becomes a demo request
Game Changers, our media brand: the CMO interview series and the Masterclass, from guest booking and prep through shooting, editing, and distribution
Social across LinkedIn, YouTube, X, Meta and Reddit - with full ownership of the company account and a key role in determining how our executive team shows up online.
Content built for how people research now, which means SEO and AEO together: structured, credible work designed to be found by humans and cited accurately by answer engines
The content side of our vertical motions, starting with the cybersecurity ABM push and the roundtable series tied to it
Our richest raw material, the webinars themselves, repurposed into assets that continue to drive momentum after the live moment ends
Write. The long-form that builds authority and the fast pieces that put us in a conversation while it's still happening. This includes both content for our owned platforms (blogs, articles, email newsletters, event recaps, etc.) as well as sponsored content intended for publications like Fast Company and Forbes.
Shoot, edit, and produce video yourself. You're not waiting on an agency to turn a CMO interview into something people watch. You know how to use your cell phone to capture high quality video, and use apps and editing tools to give it polish.
Read the attribution. See which content touches deals that close, not just which posts spike, then put your effort behind what moves pipeline and cut what isn’t working.
Turn a half-formed idea from a founder or a customer call into a show, a series, or a piece worth sharing.
Work shoulder to shoulder with demand gen, product marketing, sales, and customer success.
What you'll bring
3+ years creating content that drove measurable business outcomes.
You can write. Opinionated, specific, free of the usual B2B filler. You know the difference between an empty sentence that sounds smart and one that actually says something.
You shoot, edit, and produce video yourself. Premiere, CapCut, Descript, Riverside - whatever gets it done.
You use generative AI across video, image, and copy, but you’re careful about drawing a clear line to delineate where AI should have ownership and where you as a human should take control - and you’re willing to be accountable for all output, whether AI- or human-generated.
You understand how content converts, not just how it performs. You've mapped content to a buyer's journey and you can point to where it paid off.
You know SEO cold and you're already thinking hard about AEO, because you've watched search behavior change.
You move fast, ship, read the signal, and adjust.
Bonus Points!
B2B SaaS experience, ideally marketing to marketers
A point of view on the webinar and virtual events category and where it's going
Comfortable on camera or running the room when the moment calls for it
