About the Role
Lead and scale multiple product engineering teams at a mission-driven K-12 education technology company. Reporting to the CTO, you will shape engineering direction and help improve how schools plan schedules for teachers and students.
What You'll Do
Lead multiple product squads, supporting engineers and coordinating delivery across product areas.
Contribute code, review work, and pair with engineers, with an initially balanced split between hands-on work and leadership.
Make and guide architecture decisions that support a robust, scalable platform.
Partner with product and other cross-functional teams to set goals and connect engineering priorities to business outcomes.
Deliver high-value product features, including AI-powered capabilities.
Grow into a leadership-focused role over time while remaining connected to technical work.
What We're Looking For
At least 3 years of hands-on engineering management experience, including managing multiple teams and experience leading other managers.
Experience scaling engineering teams and owning product or business outcomes such as quality, growth, or retention.
Strong backend architecture and design skills, including the ability to evaluate technical trade-offs and remain hands-on.
Experience with TypeScript or Python, AWS, and MongoDB; familiarity with React is also relevant.
Background in K-12 education technology or a related learning and teaching field, with an interest in mission-driven education work.
Strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical decisions into business outcomes.
Ability to travel for occasional company retreats and business needs.
