About Students For Liberty
Students For Liberty is the largest pro-liberty student organization in the world, with volunteers active in 127 countries on every inhabited continent. With a multi-million-dollar budget and more than 80 full-time staff, we identify the top pro-liberty students and empower them to become agents of change in their communities. Last school year, our students organized over 3,700 events with more than 221,000 people in attendance. We are a fully virtual, entrepreneurial organization with a team in the U.S. and around the world.
Position Summary
We are looking for someone to lead European Students For Liberty. This is a full-time, fully remote role based in Europe, reporting to the Director of International Programs. You manage the programs, community, and events associates who run ESFL, and through the National Coordinators you reach student leaders across dozens of countries. We are looking for a leader who can turn sign-ups into active coordinators, turn active coordinators into impact projects, and hold every country in the region to the same standard.
SFL turns pro-liberty students into leaders, and Europe is where many of them first meet the ideas in person. Our goal is a student who joins in Warsaw, Lisbon, or Belgrade, gets trained within their first months, and finishes the year with a project that changed something in their country.
The Director of European Programs is someone who has already grown a volunteer organization and kept it working. You have recruited people, trained them, and held them to a standard they chose to meet. You have watched a pipeline leak and fixed the stage that was leaking. You have raised money from partners and sponsors for work you led yourself. We want that capability pointed at ESFL, its coordinator network, and the students Europe reaches every year.
A successful candidate will bring a firm commitment to classical-liberal ideas and to SFL’s vision and mission.
What you will own
Grow
ESFL earns its results from the students who do something real, not the students who sign up. You own the Local Coordinator Program from end to end: recruiting across the region, activation inside a coordinator’s first 60 to 90 days, the activity standard each one has to meet, the training retreats, and the route into Alumni. You decide where ESFL spends its recruiting effort, which countries earn more of it, and which ones need a different approach from the one they run today. You set the line between National Coordinators and Local Coordinators so a student always knows who trains them and who they answer to.
Build
Activity that produces nothing does not count. You carry students from a first event to an impact project with evidence to back it up: policy work, media, campaigns, and organizations they start themselves. You own how project ideas get generated in Europe, how ESFL chooses which ones to back, and what mentorship a project receives after selection. You work with the Programs Growth team, which owns SFL’s program design and standards, so what Europe runs matches the global standard, and what Europe learns feeds back into it.
Fund
You build relationships with European partners, sponsors, foundations, and individual supporters, you make the case for ESFL in writing and in the room, and you carry LibertyCon Europe’s sponsorship and ticket revenue to target. You work with the Development team, and every contact and commitment lands in Salesforce.
Deliver
LibertyCon Europe and the regional event season are where ESFL becomes visible, and you own what they return. You set the program and the speaker line, you hold the budget, and you decide in advance what each event has to produce in coordinators recruited, projects started, and revenue raised. You hold national conferences and coordinator retreats to the same bar, and an event that cannot say what it produced does not earn a second year.

You set and review their targets every quarter, you coach them through their own hard conversations, and you keep a team spread across many countries pointed at the same goals. Who we are looking for
- You have at least three years of experience managing people, including staff whose targets you set and reviewed
- You have grown a volunteer organization: you recruited people who owed you nothing, trained them, and held them to a standard they chose to meet
- You have run a recruitment pipeline and fixed it. You can name the stage that was leaking, what you changed, and what the numbers did afterward
- You have moved volunteers from signing up to doing something real: projects, campaigns, media, or organizations they started themselves
- You have raised money for work you led: sponsorships, partner revenue, grants, or individual gifts
- You have delivered an event that had to return something, and you can say what it returned in people, projects, and revenue
- You have managed a team spread across countries and time zones and kept it pointed at the same goals
- You know the pro-liberty network in Europe: the organizations, the think tanks, the people. Working knowledge of European languages beyond English helps in this region
- You live in Europe and you can travel across the region through the coordinator retreats and the event season
- You are at home with evidence, CRMs, dashboards, and measurement systems; Salesforce is a plus
- Fluent written and spoken English
