Job Details

Every morning, thousands of children walk into an Endeavor school expecting it to be warm, safe, and ready for them. Behind that moment is a roof that doesn’t leak, an HVAC system that works, a playground that passes inspection, and a vendor who showed up when they said they would. We’re looking for the leader who makes sure that happens at every one of our 100+ schools across 14 states.

As our Director of Facilities & Procurement, you’ll own the condition of our buildings and the way we buy for them. You’ll build the capital plan, run the vendor network, negotiate the contracts, and give School Leaders a partner they can count on when a building issue lands on their desk. If you’ve led multi-site facilities and procurement and want your work to protect kids and teachers every day, we’d love to meet you.

This position may be based remotely; however, candidates must reside within an existing Endeavor Schools market where we currently operate a school.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

No two weeks look the same, but a typical stretch might include:

  • Walking a school’s roof and mechanical rooms with a Facilities Manager, scoring its condition, and turning what you find into a repair or a capital request.
  • Running a competitive bid to consolidate HVAC service across a region and bringing back better pricing and a stronger service level.
  • Sitting down with a School Leader to review facilities spend against budget and agree on a plan for a school trending over.
  • Taking the call when a pipe bursts on a Tuesday night, getting the right vendor on site, and keeping the Regional Director updated until the classroom is back in service.
  • Presenting the multi-year capital plan to the CFO, ranked by safety, licensing compliance, family experience, and return.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Keep every school safe, clean, and working

  • Own the day-to-day condition, safety, and uptime of every school, including preventive maintenance, large repairs, inspections, and work orders in Service Channel/CMMS.
  • Set a clear network standard, including a one-week work-order completion target, and hold your two Facilities Managers to it.
  • Lead the response to urgent and emergency building issues so schools stay open and no school operates with an unresolved safety hazard.
  • Shift work from emergency repair to planned maintenance by fixing root causes and reducing repeat failures.

Own the school capital plan

  • Maintain a school-by-school asset inventory (roof, HVAC, playground, parking lot, flooring, kitchen, life safety, building envelope) with remaining life and replacement cost.
  • Build the annual and multi-year capital plan, make sound repair-vs-replace calls, and deliver every approved project on scope, on schedule, and on budget—scheduled around the school calendar.
  • Support facilities diligence and integration for new or acquired schools.

Make every dollar go further

  • Build a disciplined purchasing process: competitive bids, standard scopes of work, approved vendor lists, and clear approval thresholds.
  • Negotiate and manage national contracts for key facilities categories, and build vetted local vendor lists so School Leaders can book small and medium repairs directly.
  • Track savings, cost avoidance, spend under management, and vendor performance; replace underperformers.

Lead, report, and partner

  • Coach and lead two Facilities Managers with clear service levels and goals.
  • Deliver a monthly scorecard and quarterly budget report to the CFO covering school condition, PM completion, spend, capital status, savings, and vendor performance.
  • Partner with School Leaders on licensing, fire and life safety, health, ADA, and building code compliance, and drive citations toward zero.
  • Serve as the go-to facilities partner for Regional Directors and School Leaders, and train them on protocols, hazard identification, and budget management.

WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT FIT

You bring

  • 10+ years of progressive facilities management, procurement, or multi-site operations experience, including 5+ years leading multi-site, multi-state operations and field teams.
  • A proven procurement track record: running bids, negotiating contracts, consolidating vendors, and delivering measurable savings.
  • Experience owning both a repair and maintenance budget and a multi-site capital plan, with strong forecasting and executive-level reporting skills.
  • Working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, roofing, electrical, plumbing, life safety).
  • Experience with a CMMS/work-order platform and purchasing or AP systems; you use data to make decisions.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • A valid driver’s license, the ability to pass a motor vehicle background check, and the flexibility to travel 40–50% and respond to after-hours emergencies.

Bonus points for

  • Experience in schools, childcare, healthcare, retail, or other multi-site, private equity–backed environments.
  • Familiarity with licensed childcare or education regulatory requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with Service Channel.
  • Building a preferred-vendor network across multiple markets.
  • Credentials such as CFM, FMP, CPSM, or CPP.

And you are

  • Safety-first: Child and staff safety is the first consideration in every decision you make.
  • An owner: You spend company money like it’s your own, without cutting corners on safety or quality.
  • Calm under pressure: You make sound, fast decisions when a building emergency hits.
  • A clear communicator: You can explain a capital tradeoff to a CFO and a repair timeline to a School Leader with equal ease.
  • Humble and hungry: You lead with a growth mindset, share credit, and keep raising the bar.

WHY ENDEAVOR
