BlueWater Health is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Finance & Revenue Cycle to serve as the organization's senior financial leader and oversee all aspects of finance, accounting, payroll, benefits administration, financial planning, and revenue integrity.
This is a highly visible leadership role that combines traditional healthcare finance leadership with operational performance improvement and revenue cycle optimization. Reporting directly to executive leadership, the Director will play a critical role in ensuring financial stability, supporting growth initiatives, maximizing reimbursement, and providing the actionable business insights needed to guide organizational decision-making.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable analyzing financial performance, improving operational workflows, collaborating with physicians and healthcare leaders, and leading teams through change in a dynamic and growing healthcare environment.

Position Summary
The Director of Finance & Revenue Cycle serves as the organization's senior leader for all financial operations and revenue performance activities.
This position is responsible for ensuring:
- Financial operations are accurate, compliant, and efficient.
- Leadership receives timely and actionable financial information.
- Revenue is properly captured, billed, collected, and reported.
- Financial risks are identified and managed.
- Operational leaders are supported with data-driven decision-making tools.
- BlueWater Health maintains strong financial performance while supporting continued growth.
The Director partners closely with physician leaders, operations teams, external auditors, banking partners, benefits providers, revenue cycle vendors, and partner healthcare facilities to ensure organizational success.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Financial Leadership
- Serve as the organization's senior financial leader and trusted advisor to executive leadership.
- Lead financial strategy, planning, forecasting, and organizational performance improvement initiatives.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support growth opportunities, new service lines, and operational decision-making.
- Develop and monitor key organizational performance indicators.
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Oversee all accounting operations, financial reporting, and general ledger activities.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
- Ensure strong internal controls, regulatory compliance, and audit readiness.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners.
- Maintain multi-entity financial reporting and organizational accounting integrity.
Revenue Cycle & Revenue Integrity
Serve as BlueWater Health's operational leader for revenue integrity and revenue cycle performance. This is done in collaboration with our outsourced Revenue Cycle Vendor.
Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing revenue cycle performance from registration through final payment collection.
- Monitoring revenue capture, coding accuracy, documentation integrity, denials, and reimbursement performance.
- Identifying and eliminating revenue leakage opportunities.
- Leading revenue cycle performance improvement initiatives across the organization.
- Providing oversight of Charts Not Received (CNR) and Requests for Additional Information (RAI) processes.
- Monitoring and ensuring provider enrollment with payors through our third-party RCM vendor.
- Developing reporting and accountability systems focused on:
- Days in Accounts Receivable
- Net Collection Rates
- Denial Rates
- Charge Lag
- Coding Turnaround Time
- Revenue Recovery Opportunities
- Partnering with physicians, facilities, and revenue cycle vendors to optimize financial performance.
Payroll, Benefits & Compensation Administration
- Provide organizational oversight of payroll operations for physicians, APPs, and staff.
- Ensure accurate administration of physician compensation and productivity-based compensation models.
- Oversee benefits administration and vendor relationships.
- Monitor payroll and benefits costs, trends, and compliance requirements.
Contract & Operational Performance
- Monitor financial performance across facilities, contracts, and service lines.
- Analyze margins, staffing expenses, provider productivity, and reimbursement trends.
- Support contract negotiations, financial modeling, and operational improvement initiatives.
- Develop executive dashboards and performance reporting tools.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and develop finance, accounting, payroll, and revenue cycle personnel.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Utilize automation, analytics, and emerging AI technologies to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Drive cross-functional initiatives that strengthen organizational performance.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field.
- Seven or more years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare finance, accounting, revenue cycle management, or related disciplines.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare reimbursement, physician practice finance, and revenue cycle operations.
- Experience leading budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and operational analysis functions.
- Demonstrated success managing cross-functional teams and organizational initiatives.
- Advanced analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
Preferred
- CPA, MBA, MHA, HFMA certification, or comparable advanced credential.
- Experience in physician-owned healthcare organizations, emergency medicine, hospital medicine, or multi-site healthcare enterprises.
- Experience overseeing outsourced billing and coding relationships.
- Knowledge of provider compensation methodologies
- Experience leveraging data analytics, automation, and AI tools in financial operations.
