Director, Financial Planning and Analysis

Fully remote (South Africa - EST Times)

We're hiring a newly created Director of FP&A role with a fast-growing enterprise technology company. They've gone from launch to serving some of the largest retail, logistics and supply chain organisations in the world in about four years, and finance now needs to catch up to the growth.

This is a build role, not a caretaker role. You'd report directly to the CFO and own planning end to end.

What you'd own

• Annual budgeting, rolling forecasts and long-range planning
• Integrated three-statement models: revenue, gross margin, OpEx, headcount, cash flow, scenarios
• A real financial operating cadence: monthly reviews, forecast updates, variance analysis, actual follow-through with business owners
• Translating sales pipeline into probability-weighted revenue, margin, cash and capacity forecasts
• Short- and long-term cash forecasting, runway and capital allocation visibility
• Unit economics: cost-to-serve, contribution margin, working capital impact
• Analysis and materials for the exec team, investors, lenders and the Board
• Improving FP&A systems, reporting and automation as the business scales

What they're looking for

• 8+ years in FP&A, strategic finance or corporate finance, including ownership of company-wide planning
• A track record in a high-growth or scaling business where finance is expected to influence, not just report
• Strong three-statement modelling, scenario planning and business-driver analysis
• Comfortable partnering directly with a CEO and CFO, and challenging assumptions without damaging the relationship
• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets, plus ERP, FP&A and BI tooling
• Bachelor's in Finance, Accounting, Economics or similar

Nice to have: hardware, SaaS or product-driven business with enterprise customers; VC- or PE-backed environment; fundraising, Board or diligence experience; MBA, CPA or CFA.

The detail that matters: it's a lean team. You'll be hands-on before you're building headcount. If you want a big function to inherit, this isn't it. If you want to be the person who builds it, it is.
