Reinsurance Reporting Accountant - CA(SA)

Our client, a leading international reinsurance business with operations in Bermuda, is seeking a qualified CA(SA) to join their finance team as a Reinsurance Reporting Accountant. This is a unique opportunity to gain exposure to offshore insurance markets while working remotely from South Africa.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for reinsurance entities.
• Assist with statutory and regulatory reporting requirements for Cayman and Bermuda-based operations.
• Prepare financial statements in accordance with IFRS and other applicable reporting standards.
• Analyse underwriting, claims, and investment results to support business decision-making.
• Liaise with auditors, actuaries, investment managers, and other key stakeholders.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting processes.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and financial reporting requirements.
• Identify and implement process improvements within the finance function.

Requirements

• Qualified CA(SA).
• Minimum 3 years' post-articles experience.
• Experience within the insurance or reinsurance sector would be beneficial.
• Previous exposure to Cayman Islands and/or Bermuda insurance markets is essential.
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with complex financial data.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with international stakeholders.
