Job Description:

DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Director of HR is responsible for managing the day-to-day execution of Etherio's human resources programs while building and maintaining trust throughout the organization. The position reports to the VP of Human Resources and serves as a business division's first point of contact for HR needs, partnering closely with other HR team members to deliver support — from workforce planning and recruiting support to employee relations, engagement, and benefits. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports. The Director of HR demonstrates hands-on execution, sound judgment, and dedicated partnership within their own Etherio Corporate HR Team as well as the assigned division.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

General

  • Manage division employee relations matters end to end, including day-to-day coaching, in partnership with the VP of HR.
  • Administer and continuously contribute to the improvement of core HR processes in conjunction with HR Team — onboarding, offboarding, performance management, leave administration, and employee documentation.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data; generate reports and metrics to support informed decision-making.

Talent Acquisition, Onboarding, and Workforce Planning

  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition Manager in full-cycle recruiting for the division — requisitions, screening, and offer management.
  • Provide support to Talent Acquisition Manager and hiring managers to build role scorecards and interview plans in alignment with HR practices that identify strong, value-aligned candidates.
  • Deliver a consistent, engaging onboarding experience that sets new hires up for success and reflects the Etherio Way.

Compliance and Policy Administration

  • Ensure consistent application of Etherio HR policy and maintain compliance with multi-state employment law given the division's distributed workforce.
  • Help maintain and update the employee handbook, HR policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Support audits, recordkeeping, and reporting requirements (EEO, ACA, and similar) in partnership with the VP of HR.

Performance, Engagement, and Retention

  • Support performance review cycles, goal setting, and development planning.
  • Support engagement and retention — contribute to the design of initiatives, surveys, and action-planning that strengthen culture and reduce turnover.
  • Work with the VP of HR on training and development programs that build manager capability and foster employee growth.

Total Rewards and HR Projects

  • Support administration of compensation and benefits programs, including annual open enrollment and salary review cycles.
  • Partner with the VP of HR on special projects, process improvements, and HR systems.
  • Contribute HR expertise to broader organizational initiatives, ensuring the people considerations are reflected in business decisions.

  • 8+ years of progressive HR generalist experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law and HR compliance requirements.
  • Excellent judgment and discretion when managing confidential information.
  • Proven ability to build trust and credibility with employees and leaders at all levels.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms, Microsoft Office, and virtual collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams.
  • A collaborative, empathetic approach consistent with the Etherio Way — dependability, professionalism, integrity, and respect for others.
