As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Director , Logistics to help build a smarter, more scalable approach to transportation and logistics across our organization. Reporting to the SVP of Operations, the Director , Logistics will lead the strategy and execution of Harrington’s logistics operations across our growing portfolio. This role will have primary responsibility for freight and parcel strategy, carrier management, transportation spend, cost recovery, network optimization, and logistics performance, while also providing oversight of fleet and export compliance. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can think strategically, dig into the data, build strong partnerships, and turn opportunities into measurable results. What You’ll Do: Develop and execute Harrington’s logistics and transportation strategy across our multi-location distribution network. Lead the strategic management of LTL, parcel, truckload, expedited, and international transportation providers. Analyze freight spend, service levels, carrier performance, and network utilization to identify opportunities to improve cost, service, and efficiency. Lead carrier negotiations, quarterly business reviews, and performance management with strategic transportation partners. Partner with Finance, Sales, and Operations to drive full recovery of freight and transportation costs and reduce cost leakage. Establish meaningful logistics KPIs and reporting to improve visibility into transportation spend, cost recovery, and carrier performance. Identify opportunities to streamline and automate freight payables, cost allocation, transportation processes, and spend tracking. Provide strategic oversight of Harrington’s fleet, including asset utilization, fleet providers, telematics, driver safety, and compliance. Provide leadership and oversight to the Export Compliance function, supporting efficient and compliant international shipments. Lead, coach, and develop a small team while building a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. What We’re Looking For: 6+ years of progressive logistics , transportation, or supply chain experience, preferably within wholesale or industrial distribution. Experience supporting a multi-location or hub-and-spoke distribution network strongly preferred. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; Supply Chain Management, Logistics , Business, or a related field preferred. Strong knowledge of LTL and parcel transportation, carrier management, freight pricing, and industry trends. Demonstrated experience managing transportation spend and negotiating carrier or service-provider agreements. Strong analytical and financial acumen with experience using data to identify cost savings and operational improvements. Familiarity with fleet management, telematics, driver compliance, and export logistics . Experience leading and developing professional-level employees. Strong communication, negotiation, and cross-functional leadership skills. Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable using data and technology to solve problems and improve how work gets done. Experience with Power BI, transportation or fleet management platforms, Microsoft Access, SQL, or similar analytical tools is beneficial, along with a high level of comfort using AI-enabled tools to improve processes and productivity.
