About the Role

SolidCAD, a Symetri Company, is seeking an experienced Director of Marketing to lead our Canadian marketing function during a 12-month maternity leave contract.


This senior, hands-on role will maintain marketing momentum, strengthen revenue operations, oversee the Business Development Representative (BDR) function, manage marketing investments, and keep campaigns aligned with business priorities.


You will lead an established multidisciplinary team and work with Sales, Operations, Professional Services, industry leaders, partners, and Symetri’s North American and global marketing teams. You will provide stability, clear direction, and measurable improvements during organizational growth and brand transition.


Key Responsibilities


Revenue Operations, Tracking and Reporting

  • Lead improvements to marketing and revenue reporting across HubSpot, Salesforce, ZoomInfo, and related systems.
  • Work with the Revenue Operations consultant to review, test, refine, and document automation, lead routing, campaign tracking, opportunity attribution, and reporting
  • Maintain accurate connections between campaigns, leads, accounts, opportunities, pipeline, and revenue.
  • Resolve data-quality issues, stalled workflows, reporting gaps, and inconsistencies between marketing and sales systems.
  • Improve lead follow-up, sales task creation and completion, nurturing, and campaign attribution.
  • Maintain executive dashboards covering lead quality, funnel conversion, pipeline contribution, channel performance, and ROI; translate results into actionable recommendations.


BDR Leadership and Sales Alignment

  • Provide strategic and operational oversight of the BDR function, including priorities, audiences, qualification criteria, activity expectations, and performance measures.
  • Partner with Demand Generation to prioritize high-intent leads, engaged contacts, target accounts, and campaign follow-up based on revenue potential.
  • Work with Sales and industry leaders to develop inbound and outbound plays for priority solutions, services, and competitive opportunities.
  • Guide call scripts, email sequences, discovery questions, talk tracks, objection handling, and sales-enablement resources.
  • Monitor meetings, qualified opportunities, pipeline, conversion, follow-up completion, and reasons leads do not progress.
  • Refine handoffs between Marketing, BDRs, account managers, and sales leadership, ensuring opportunities are attributed correctly.


Marketing Planning, Budgeting and Channel Performance

  • Lead annual and quarterly planning aligned with revenue priorities, industry needs, partner commitments, and team capacity.
  • Own the Canadian marketing budget, forecasts, committed spending, and actual-versus-planned reporting.
  • Evaluate paid search, paid social, display, ABM, SEO, email, webinars, events, content, and partner marketing.
  • Adjust investments based on lead quality, pipeline, conversion, revenue influence, and strategic value.
  • Track partner funding, eligible spending, deadlines, proof of performance, and reimbursement.
  • Report performance, budget status, risks, and investment recommendations to leadership.


Campaign Portfolio Management

  • Share portfolio oversight with the Marketing and Communications Manager, directly overseeing approximately 50% of priority campaigns.
  • Lead campaigns involving significant investment, multiple departments, strategic partners, revenue targets, or complex go-to-market requirements.
  • Establish clear ownership, objectives, audiences, offers, budgets, timelines, contributors, follow-up requirements, and success measures.
  • Keep technical inputs, approvals, assets, launches, and reporting on schedule; resolve stalled initiatives and resource gaps.
  • Lead post-campaign reviews and recommend which programs to repeat, refine, expand, or discontinue.


Go-to-Market and Sales Enablement

  • Oversee launches for software, professional services, consulting, training, Foundation Packs, and Symetri technology.
  • Confirm each offer’s audience, business problem, scope, positioning, pricing approach, proof points, sales process, and call to action.
  • Work with Professional Services and technical experts to develop accurate, commercially relevant messaging.
  • Ensure Sales has presentations, qualification guidance, calculators, talk tracks, campaign context, and follow-up resources.
  • Align launches with sales readiness and delivery capacity; use market response to refine positioning, enablement, and campaigns.


Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Connect Marketing with Sales, Professional Services, Revenue Operations, BDRs, industry leaders, executives, and partners.
  • Translate business priorities into clear plans, campaign requirements, and team responsibilities.
  • Engage stakeholders early to confirm scope, technical resources, deadlines, approvals, and sales follow-up.
  • Resolve competing priorities, communicate decisions and risks, and represent Marketing in leadership and planning meetings.
  • Evaluate requests against business value, urgency, capacity, and strategic priorities


Partner Marketing and Governance

  • Maintain strong relationships with Autodesk, Bluebeam, Symetri, and other priority partners.
  • Oversee campaign commitments, funding requirements, deliverables, deadlines, brand standards, and performance reporting.
  • Ensure reimbursement and proof-of-performance documentation is accurate and submitted on time.


Brand and Organizational Transition

  • Support the transition from SolidCAD to Symetri while maintaining customer confidence and internal clarity.
  • Coordinate brand, digital, campaign, and customer communications with Canadian, US, and global stakeholders.
  • Maintain consistent messaging and visual identity across websites, presentations, events, and customer materials.


Digital Marketing and Canadian Market Requirements

  • Oversee website performance with Marketing & Communications Manager, SEO, AEO, paid media, conversion paths, forms, analytics, and attribution.
  • Support measurable demand generation while protecting organic visibility and content authority during website and brand changes.
  • Plan priority campaigns for English and French Canadian audiences, including translation, review, sales support, and expert participation.
  • • Guide practical, responsible use of AI for content, personalization, marketing workflows, and reporting.


Team Leadership and Operational Continuity

  • Lead and coach specialists across demand generation, communications, content, field marketing, digital, SEO, marketing operations, and business development.
  • Set priorities, responsibilities, deadlines, and performance expectations; manage workload and resources.
  • Document processes, decisions, campaigns, budgets, system changes, and risks.
  • Prepare a structured handback covering team performance, budgets, pipeline, campaigns, partners, vendors, systems, and upcoming priorities.


What Success Looks Like

  • Trusted reporting demonstrates Marketing’s contribution to pipeline and revenue.
  • Documented workflows support effective lead follow-up, qualification, and conversion.
  • Budgets and BDR activity focus on the strongest business opportunities.
  • Campaigns, launches, and partner commitments are delivered on time.
  • Teams remain aligned and prepared for a smooth leadership handback.


Qualifications and Experience

  • 8–12+ years of progressive B2B marketing experience, including senior team, budget, and strategy leadership.
  • Experience as a Director of Marketing, Head of Marketing, Senior Marketing Manager, Revenue Marketing Leader, or similar.
  • Demonstrated ability to connect marketing activity to qualified pipeline, opportunities, and revenue.
  • Strong experience in marketing operations, demand generation, multi-channel campaigns, sales alignment, and performance reporting.
  • Experience leading or supporting a BDR, SDR, inside-sales, or lead-development function.
  • Practical CRM and marketing automation knowledge; Salesforce and HubSpot experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and make investment decisions using performance data.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, SEO, paid media, ABM, content, webinars, events, and sales enablement.
  • Experience in technology, software, professional services, consulting, engineering, construction, manufacturing, or a channel-partner environment preferred.
  • Experience in a North American or global matrixed organization, or supporting an acquisition, rebrand, or transformation, is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Autodesk, Bluebeam, or AECO, infrastructure, and manufacturing sectors is beneficial.
  • French-language proficiency is an asset.
