Why Join GEICO?
At GEICO, we offer a rewarding career where your ambitions are met with endless possibilities.
Every day we honor our iconic brand by offering quality coverage to millions of customers and being there when they need us most. We thrive on relentless innovation to exceed our customers' expectations while making a real impact on local communities nationwide.
Founded in 1936, GEICO is a member of the Berkshire Hathaway family of companies and one of the largest auto insurers in the United States. When you join our company, we want you to feel valued, supported, and proud to work here. That's why we offer the GEICO Pledge: Great Company, Great Culture, Great Rewards, and Great Careers.
GEICO is one of the most recognized brands in American insurance, and its marketing investment is among the largest in the industry. As Director of Marketing Analytics, Performance Marketing, you will make the measurement behind that investment the fastest and most trusted in insurance. You will set the standard for what "decision-ready" means, hire a team of senior channel experts across search, SEO/AEO, programmatic & social media, email and direct mail. You will design an operating model where people, automation, and AI work together. You will report to the Senior Director, Marketing Analytics, and partner directly with Marketing's executive leadership.
You will thrive here if you like building as much as leading. The team is at the start of its build, so you will shape how it is structured, who joins first, and the standard it holds itself to, and you will earn its reputation with the people who rely on it.
The problems you'll solve
· Measurement that holds up across channels, so every dollar is judged on what it actually drove
· Incrementality testing that separates demand GEICO created from demand it would have captured anyway
· Anomaly detection that flags a broken campaign or a shifting auction in real time
· Optimizing digital marketing spend to drive the highest return on marketing investment
· Measurement for SEO, answer engine optimization (AEO) and generative engine optimization (GEO) as AI changes how customers find insurance
How We Work
The Marketing organization at GEICO is guided by a clear set of principles: we hire the best at every level and invest in developing them. We believe that strategy comes before action, if we don't know why we're doing something, we don't do it. We bring the same care and accountability to how we spend resources as we would if it were our own business. And when there are challenges, we face them directly and collectively. Leaders in this organization are expected to bring that same mindset to their teams.
Key Responsibilities
Analytical Vision and Strategy
· Define and communicate the analytical vision and standards for performance marketing analytics at the department level.
· Build enterprise partnerships to align analytical needs, identify cross-functional opportunities, and develop shared data and analytical resources.
· Participate in strategic planning and project evaluation to lend analytics expertise to intake, prioritization, tradeoffs, and long-term plans.
Business Insight and Decision Support
· Build deep understanding of marketing and business evolution; translate implications into clear opportunities, risks, and recommendations for senior leaders.
· Review and calibrate analytical outputs to ensure clear causal storytelling, articulation of uncertainty, and actionable recommendations.
· Champion data-driven decision making and influence how leaders consume and act on insights.
AI-Driven Decisioning
· Set the vision for how AI should be used within performance marketing analytics to improve decision quality, team effectiveness, and business impact.
· Establish standards for the responsible and effective use of AI in analytical workflows, insight generation, and stakeholder decision support.
· Identify and scale practical applications of AI that enhance how analytics prioritizes work, develops insights, and supports marketing strategy.
Talent and Organizational Leadership
· Drive talent strategy, including organizational design, succession planning, and leadership pipeline development.
· Lead senior leaders and build high-performing teams with clear expectations for analytical rigor and stakeholder partnership.
· Establish a scalable team structure and capability roadmap aligned to evolving business needs.
Performance Marketing Analytics Team
· Build out the Performance Marketing Analytics team and design a structure that gives Marketing consistent, high-quality analytical coverage across its channels.
· Recruit, onboard, and develop channel specialists, and set clear expectations for coverage, output quality, and stakeholder partnership.
· Sequence hiring and team design over time, with input from the Senior Director, Marketing Analytics, as business needs and priorities evolve.
Partnership with Marketing Analytics
· Work with the Senior Director, Marketing Analytics to keep performance marketing analytics aligned to broader performance measurement, priorities, and executive reporting.
· Collaborate with data science, data engineering, business intelligence for priorities and support of marketing analytics
You May Be a Good Fit If You
· Have led managers and/or specialists in marketing analytics, know how to hire well and develop talent, and hold a team to a high standard of output, not just technical quality, but clarity and utility for the business.
· Have been the connector between data and decisions, partnering with strategy leads, marketing leaders, and channel owners so insights don't stay in a dashboard but change what people do.
· Are fluent in the language of finance and growth: you're comfortable talking CAC, LTV, and ROI, and you frame analytical work in terms that resonate with business leaders, not just analysts.
· Have worked inside a conversion-driven service business (financial services, insurance, SaaS, or banking) where the company's success depends on acquiring and retaining customers and where the stakes of a bad insight are real.
· Have built an analytics team from the ground up, including hiring its first managers, and can design structure and coverage as the work and priorities evolve.
· Set a high bar for rigor while staying focused on outputs that are decision-ready rather than analytically perfect for their own sake.
· Operate comfortably with high autonomy and strategic ambiguity, and bring clarity to the teams around you rather than waiting for it.
· Use AI tools to move faster and think better, and have hands-on experience integrating AI-driven decisioning into how a team operates.
· Want to do substantive, visible work at an iconic brand rather than adjacent to it.
Ideal Experience
· Experience: 10+ years of experience in marketing analytics or a directly related domain, with meaningful time managing managers or teams of analysts and owning the quality of their output.
· Decision partnership: Demonstrated ability to partner with strategy leads and business owners to turn data and research into clear insights that drive decisions, not just reports that get read and filed.
· Finance and growth fluency: Comfortable working alongside Finance, interpreting business performance data, and framing recommendations in terms of CAC, LTV, and ROI.
· Service business context: Background in a conversion-driven service business, financial services, insurance, SaaS, or banking, where the company's success depends on acquiring and retaining customers. Experience in CPG or physical product marketing is not a substitute for this context.
· Standards and governance: Track record of setting standards for analytics quality and delivery, including governance frameworks, output calibration, and stakeholder communication norms.
· Team building: Experience building and leading a multi-layer analytics organization from an early stage, including hiring and developing managers.
· Executive communication: Demonstrated ability to present complex analytical findings to senior leadership and drive alignment on recommended actions.
· AI tooling: Working comfort with AI tools, and experience applying LLM-assisted workflows to analytical work.
· Education: Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field required; Master's degree preferred.
Strong Candidates May Also Have
· Experience influencing enterprise analytics strategy across multiple functions or business units.
· Hands-on analytics experience across a broad range of marketing channels, including search, programmatic media, social media, SEO, AEO, GEO, email, and direct mail.
· Hands-on experience using large language models, automated insight generation, or AI-assisted workflow tooling to improve team productivity and analytical output.
· Experience in Property and Casualty insurance or financial services specifically.
· Experience owning vendor relationships across analytics tools, platforms, and agencies.
