About mpathic
mpathic is building the future of trustworthy AI. Grounded in behavioral and medical science and human-centered design, we provide the infrastructure for building AI systems that are safe, aligned, and emotionally intelligent.
Building on our work in areas like RL gyms, red teaming, and benchmarking, we are creating the foundation for training, probing, and measuring advanced AI systems reliably, auditably, and at scale. We are remote-first and psychologist-founded, with a culture that pairs high standards with kindness, trust, and autonomy.
Our Life Sciences Line of Business brings clinician-led AI monitoring, safety detection, and expert clinical review to clinical trials, helping sponsors and CROs protect participants and data quality, with a strong presence in psychedelic and CNS research.
About the Role
mpathic is seeking a Director of Marketing & Communications, Life Sciences to build demand and market presence for our Life Sciences business. You will own Life Sciences marketing and communications end to end, and report to our Co-Founder & Chief Business and Innovation Officer (CBIO), who leads the Life Sciences business.
The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of marketing and communications experience: positioning, demand generation, content, events, PR, and media relations. Experience at a life sciences vendor (such as an eCOA, CRO, EDC, or clinical technology provider), a healthcare company, or an AI company is a strong plus.
You will work closely with the Life Sciences Sales Director to generate pipeline, and work as one team with mpathic’s company marketing team in GTM so Life Sciences messaging stays consistent with the company brand. This is a hands-on role: you should be as comfortable writing a case study or pitching a reporter as you are planning a campaign.
This is a U.S.-based remote position. Candidates must reside in the United States. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
What You’ll Do
Life Sciences Positioning and Messaging
- Develop Life Sciences positioning, messaging, and value propositions for sponsors and CROs, with the CBIO.
- Build buyer personas and use cases for clinical operations, clinical development, medical, and quality audiences.
- Work as one team with GTM marketing through a regular cross-functional sync on narrative, the editorial and events calendar, and shared assets, keeping Life Sciences messaging aligned with mpathic’s company brand.
Demand Generation and Campaigns
- Plan and run campaigns that generate qualified pipeline for Life Sciences sales.
- Own the Life Sciences website presence, email, social, and paid programs.
- Track marketing-sourced and marketing-influenced pipeline with the Sales Director.
Content and Sales Materials
- Produce case studies, white papers, webinars, and research summaries with Science and clinical experts.
- Create pitch decks, one-pagers, and sales materials for the Sales Director and the CBIO.
- Turn study outcomes and clinical insights into customer-approved stories.
Events
- Own the Life Sciences event calendar, including industry conferences, psychedelic science meetings, booths, speaking slots, and hosted roundtables.
- Manage event logistics, budget, and pre- and post-event follow-up with the Sales Director.
Communications and PR
- Build relationships with life sciences trade and business media, and secure coverage and bylines.
- Lead announcements for partnerships, customer milestones, and research results.
- Prepare spokespeople, including the CBIO, and manage speaking submissions.
- Coordinate sensitive communications with the CBIO and mpathic’s company communications team.

- Run a calendar of priority Life Sciences events that produces qualified meetings.
- Build a library of case studies, white papers, and webinars.

- Can translate clinical and scientific concepts into clear, credible messages.
- Have run B2B demand generation that produced measurable pipeline.
- Have built relationships with trade and business media.
- Are hands-on and comfortable building a function from an early stage.
