The Opportunity
We're partnering with an established, ambitious business that is entering an exciting period of growth and operational development. With a strong international presence and an evolving commercial strategy, the organisation is looking to appoint an experienced Director of Operations to help shape its next phase.
This is an opportunity for a commercially minded, forward-thinking leader who enjoys building high-performing operations, improving business performance and creating the infrastructure needed to support sustainable growth.
Working closely with the senior leadership team, you'll have the autonomy to challenge existing ways of working, introduce smarter processes and ensure the business is equipped to deliver against its longer-term ambitions.
We're particularly interested in individuals who can combine strategic thinking with a pragmatic, hands-on approach and who are comfortable operating across multiple business functions and international markets.
The Role
As Director of Operations, you'll take a broad leadership remit, ensuring the business has the operational capabilities, systems and processes to support its commercial objectives.
You'll play an important role in identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen organisational capability and introduce new ways of working.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing strategic and operational leadership across multiple functions, ensuring teams, processes and resources are aligned with business priorities.
- Reviewing existing operating models and identifying opportunities to improve productivity, service delivery and overall business performance.
- Leading business improvement initiatives, simplifying processes and introducing more scalable ways of working.
- Overseeing key aspects of supply chain, logistics and operational planning, ensuring effective coordination across international markets.
- Evaluating systems, technology and data capabilities, identifying opportunities to improve visibility, reporting and decision-making.
- Supporting the implementation of new technologies, automation and digital tools to create greater operational efficiency.
- Developing robust performance measures and management information to support informed decision-making.
- Working collaboratively with commercial, finance and other business leaders to ensure operational priorities support wider business objectives.
- Strengthening risk management, business continuity and operational governance.
- Building, coaching and developing high-performing teams, creating a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and collaboration.
- Supporting future business expansion, including the integration of new processes, capabilities and operational structures.
- Managing operational budgets, investment priorities and cost improvement opportunities.
About You
We're looking for an established operational leader who has successfully managed complexity, delivered change and helped businesses improve the way they operate.
You'll be equally comfortable discussing long-term business strategy with senior stakeholders and working directly with teams to turn ideas into practical outcomes.
Ideally, you'll bring:
- Significant experience in a senior operations leadership position, ideally at Director level or equivalent.
- A background in FMCG, consumer products, distribution, manufacturing or another commercially driven, product-focused environment.
- Experience operating within an international or multi-location business.
- A demonstrable track record of improving operational performance and implementing meaningful business change.
- Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to balance operational efficiency, financial performance and customer expectations.
- Experience managing complex supply chains, cross-functional operations or business transformation programmes.
- An understanding of how technology, data and automation can improve business performance.
- The ability to influence senior stakeholders and build effective relationships across different functions.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience developing teams and creating clear accountability.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and the confidence to challenge established processes constructively.
Experience supporting businesses through periods of growth, organisational change or expansion would be particularly valuable.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
This is more than a traditional operational management position. You'll be joining a business with genuine ambition, an established market presence and an appetite to invest in the people, technology and processes that will support its future.
The successful individual will have the opportunity to influence business direction, shape operational strategy and make a tangible impact across the organisation.
In return, you can expect:
- Base salary up to £150,000.
- 20% Annual bonus.
- Remote working.
- A comprehensive benefits package.
- Opportunities for continued professional development.
- Exposure to international business operations.
- A highly visible leadership position with significant scope to influence change and future growth.
