Location: US Remote
Employment Type: Full Time, Exempt

Minimum Educational Req: Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Marketing, Management, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Years of Experience: 5+ years of progressive leadership experience with revenue accountability and operational ownership.

Position Summary:

The Director of Operations serves as the senior operational and go-to-market leader for Career Certified's AEC Business Unit, overseeing Amber Book, All Star Training, and My Contractors License (MCL). This role is accountable for business performance across the portfolio, including revenue growth, operational execution, marketing strategy, customer experience, B2B partnerships, and strategic initiatives.

The Director of Operations acts as the primary business leader responsible for coordinating sales, marketing, operations, and customer success efforts while ensuring alignment with Career Certified's broader organizational goals. This individual owns revenue forecasting, operational effectiveness, and execution of growth initiatives across multiple brands and business models.

The ideal candidate brings strong business acumen, operational leadership experience, and a proven ability to drive measurable results through cross-functional collaboration, strategic planning, and disciplined execution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Revenue & Go-to-Market Leadership

  • Maintain accountability for AEC business unit revenue performance and forecasting.
  • Develop and execute annual and quarterly growth strategies across Amber Book, All Star Training, and MCL.
  • Lead marketing planning efforts, including budget allocation, campaign prioritization, and performance measurement.
  • Partner with centralized marketing teams to optimize customer acquisition, conversion, and retention efforts.
  • Oversee B2B sales initiatives, business partnerships, strategic accounts, and compliance program relationships.
  • Support the development and growth of organic social media presence across AEC brands.
  • Monitor business performance metrics and make data-driven recommendations to maximize revenue and profitability.

Business Operations Management

  • Lead day-to-day operations across all AEC business lines.
  • Ensure efficient execution of customer support functions for both B2C and B2B audiences.
  • Oversee sales enablement processes and B2B program delivery activities.
  • Manage operational workflows to support enrollment, course delivery, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that increase efficiency, scalability, and service quality.
  • Manage operational vendors, systems, and technology relationships supporting the AEC business unit.

Project & Program Leadership

  • Lead cross-functional projects supporting business growth and operational improvements.
  • Coordinate AEC initiatives including website enhancements, platform migrations, product launches, and enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Establish project priorities, timelines, and accountability measures to ensure successful execution.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to identify risks, dependencies, and resource requirements.
  • Ensure strategic initiatives are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives.

Operational Excellence & Process Management

  • Develop, document, and improve standard operating procedures across the AEC portfolio.
  • Oversee class scheduling, publishing processes, compliance requirements, and course operations.
  • Ensure operational consistency and quality standards across all brands.
  • Implement scalable processes that support future growth and operational maturity.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and recommend operational improvements based on business outcomes.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the AEC business unit and centralized Career Certified teams, including Product, Digital Marketing, Finance, Technology, Data, and Human Resources.
  • Build strong partnerships across departments to align priorities and drive execution.
  • Communicate business performance, strategic priorities, risks, and opportunities to executive leadership.
  • Foster collaboration and accountability across teams supporting the AEC business unit.
  • Lead and develop team members while promoting a high-performance, customer-focused culture.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong operational leadership and business management capabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience owning revenue targets, forecasting, and business performance metrics.
  • Ability to lead across multiple functions, including sales, marketing, customer support, and operations.

Required Technical Skills:

  • Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Salesforce or equivalent CRM platform
  • Business reporting and analytics tools
  • Project management and collaboration platforms
  • Experience interpreting marketing and operational performance dashboards

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Multi-brand business management experience
  • B2B and B2C business experience
  • Digital marketing exposure and understanding of customer acquisition channels
  • Experience in education, training, licensing, professional certification, SaaS, or subscription-based businesses
  • Prior responsibility for P&L management and strategic planning
