About You
You're a performance media pro who loves turning complex campaigns into measurable results. Equal parts strategic thinker, hands-on problem solver, and team champion, you know how to balance the big picture with the smallest details. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, embrace evolving technology, and have a knack for making data tell a meaningful story. You're passionate about building strong teams, refining processes, and finding smarter ways to work. Above all, you take pride in delivering exceptional work, empowering those around you, and making a real impact for clients.
About the Job
In an increasingly complex and algorithm-driven digital ecosystem, media execution must be flawless, agile, and relentlessly focused on performance. As the Director of Performance Media, you will oversee KHM's media buying division, leading a dedicated team of specialists across self-serve walled gardens and third-party vendor platforms.
Your primary focus is driving operational excellence, campaign accuracy, and consistent ROI across paid search and paid social. You will lead teams through every phase of campaign lifecycle management-from plan development, asset trafficking, and technical setup through daily optimization, Domo CM monitoring, rigorous QA protocols, and actionable performance reporting.
Travel: This role may require occasional travel, approximately once per year, for company meetings, team collaboration, or other business-related events.
What You'll Be Doing
Lead & Modernize Performance Media Execution & Delivery
- Flawless Campaign Deployment: Direct and oversee the execution of media buys across self-serve platforms (search, social, walled gardens) and third-party vendor-managed buys, ensuring strict adherence to budgets and targeted KPIs.
- Operational & Technical Excellence: Ensure rigorous team standards for setup and tracking, including UTM creation, permalinks, lead retrieval, vendor asset trafficking, and confirming vendor launches with screenshots.
- Quality Assurance & Lifecycle Management: Enforce strict QA protocols across the campaign lifecycle, overseeing Launch QAs, Mid-Point Check-ins, and Campaign Completes to guarantee delivery precision and mitigate risk.
Optimization, Monitoring & Division Leadership
- Day-to-Day Optimization: Lead team strategy around continuous, data-driven optimization across all active channels to maximize return on ad spend (ROAS) and key performance metrics.
- Dashboard & System Monitoring: Oversee Domo Campaign Manager (CM) and reporting pipelines to ensure real-time accuracy, campaign pacing, and early detection of anomalies.
- Plan Creation & Evolution: Guide the development of search engine marketing (SEM) plans, strategy adjustments, and ongoing campaign edits to meet shifting client objectives.
Reporting, Analytics & Process Growth
- Reporting & Performance Support: Oversee performance reporting structures to provide clear, actionable insights and proof of value to internal strategy leads and client partners.
- Process & Workflow Refinement: Continually streamline division workflows for deployment tasks, trafficking, and platform management to enhance team efficiency and campaign quality.
What We Are Looking For
- Proven Leadership & Media Depth: 5+ years of hands-on digital media experience across paid search, paid social, self-serve platforms, and 3P vendor-managed buys, including demonstrated experience managing media teams.
- In-Platform & Technical Mastery: Hands-on experience working directly in-platform across major walled gardens (Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, etc.), alongside proficiency with ad ops workflows, QA protocols, tracking/UTMs, and Domo (or similar BI/dashboards).
- Client-Level Presentation Experience: Strong account communication and presentation skills, with a track record of presenting media strategies, performance insights, and campaign results directly to clients and key stakeholders.
- Relentless Attention to Detail: High standards for campaign deployment accuracy, asset trafficking, pacing, and budget oversight.
- Analytical & Solution-Oriented: Ability to translate complex platform metrics into actionable optimization strategies and narrative-driven performance reports.
