WHO WE ARE
The ASU+GSV Summit
Now in its 18th year, the ASU+GSV Summit is the world's most important gathering of “PreK to Gray” education and workforce leaders. Held every April in San Diego, the 2026 event drew over 7,000 registrants to tackle the transformation of learning and skills delivery through generative AI, virtual reality, and other emerging technologies.
As of July 2025, GSV Summit became part of Hyve Group's portfolio, joining forces with Bett to create the largest and most impactful education innovation community in the world, now reaching an audience of over 100,000 participants across five events on four continents.
WHO IS THE PRODUCT TEAM?
The Product Team is the creative and strategic engine behind the ASU+GSV Summit experience. We design and deliver content that inspires action — each year we work with over 850+ speakers, curating high-production keynotes with global thought leaders to provocative panels and interactive workshops – and we build experiences that create the space and opportunities for truly transformational connections and conversations. Our team meets the moment by launching new stages like Multiple Choice in response to the growing conversation on education pluralism and building THE FORCE, a dedicated program and community space, in order to further our community growth with enterprise learning and talent leaders.
We sit at the intersection of marketing, partnerships, and community, collaborating with education leaders, practitioners, entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, researchers, and thought leaders to shape the conversations and community experiences that matter most in “PreK to Gray” learning.
Our work is structured around three core verticals — PreK-12, Higher Education, and Workforce — but the real power is in what we call “the magic in the mix.” EdTech is the connective tissue across all three: it's where the innovation, investment, and company-building happen that shape every vertical. Program often develops across verticals, so every team member takes a collaborative approach. We lean in to build the right program for the right audience at the right time, staying agile to launch new programs and rethink existing ones as needed.
ROLE OVERVIEW
We're looking for a strategic, entrepreneurial Director of Product, EdTech to be GSV's core EdTech voice — owning the programs and relationships that put the global EdTech ecosystem at the center of the ASU+GSV Summit. This is a builder's role: part programming, part community, part company-building and investing, all in service of positioning GSV as the world leader in educational innovation.
You'll report to Lucy Baldwin, VP of Program, and act as her true partner on all things EdTech — while Lucy continues to be deeply engaged across the EdTech portfolio, this role owns the day-to-day execution and is expected to bring independent judgment, ideas, and follow-through.
You'll lead GSV Cup end-to-end, help scale GSV 150, curate and execute Star Track, as well as our Building & Investing stage and integrate EdTech programming across the PreK-12, Higher Ed, and Workforce verticals — including the founders, investors, and companies at the building and investing stage. You’re a true “company junkie” — one of the foremost minds and relationship-builders spanning early-stage, growth-stage, PE-backed, and public EdTech, as well as the investment side. You know who’s creating true market share and impact at scale today, and who the changemakers, breakout startups, and early-bet investors are — the “stars of tomorrow.””
The role blends product and program management, community building, and business development, requiring creativity, precision, and deep sector insight.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
As the Director of Product, EdTech, you will be responsible for:
Ecosystem Building & Relationship Management
Experience
This role requires a willingness to travel and work extended hours in the weeks leading up to the Summit, as well as supplemental travel throughout the year.
GSV is an equal opportunity employer and we value diversity in our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
As the Director of Product, EdTech, you will be responsible for:
Ecosystem Building & Relationship Management
- Serve as GSV’s foremost connector across the global EdTech ecosystem — engaging daily with the founders, investors, operators, and policymakers shaping the industry, and ensuring GSV’s content and programming stay ahead of what’s next.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Product, and Community teams to position GSV as the thought leader and the premier platform for EdTech companies at all stages, from ideation to growth to IPO.
- Work with the Community Team to engage, nurture, and grow the EdTech community year-round, using research and community insights to shape programming, sponsorship opportunities, and emerging topics.
- Grow GSV 150's reach and representation across geographies and sectors, and increase EdTech representation across all programming to amplify the EdTech voice at Summit.
- Learn the GSV150 formula and maintain the list accurately year-round; lead on annual announcement and surrounding marketing activities, including press release, personalized CEO invitations, GSV 150 market map creation, and social media campaigns.
- Lead end-to-end GSV Cup and co-lead Star Track programming, from identifying and recruiting the most promising startups through seamless execution of GSV Demo Day.
- Develop productization and sponsorship strategies to grow revenue across GSV Cup, GSV 150, and StarTrack — including receptions, list and sponsorship packages, media partnerships, and the Founders x Founders matching program.
- Run the Community Events surrounding the Entrepreneur and Investor community, including the Entrepreneur & Investor Happy Hour and other events that connect founders with investors and build pipeline for the ASU+GSV brand.
- Co-curate the EdTech Building and Investing stage — tracking emerging startups, funding rounds, and the investors backing them — to keep programming and partnerships ahead of the market.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for EdTech speakers, moderators, founders, investors, and partners — delivering exceptional service and responsiveness.
- Streamline operations by automating registration, selection, and scheduling, and eliminate conflicts across overlapping EdTech sessions.
- Co-curate and execute the EdTech program vision end-to-end — from idea generation through final session delivery — with exceptional documentation of session details and speaker logistics.
- Identify, cultivate, and manage relationships with partners to strengthen EdTech programming, co-creating activations that drive partner value and revenue growth alongside the partnership team.
- Develop new engagement opportunities — workshops, mentorship opportunities, regional meetups, and other high-engagement events — that build the ASU+GSV brand and pipeline into sponsorship.
- Use Airtable, Cvent, generative AI, and other tools to streamline workflows and enhance program delivery, and help test new technologies that improve efficiency and business outcomes.
- Partner with the Product team to develop and improve edtech ecosystem knowledge mapping and building across the team.
Experience
- Bachelor's degree.
- Significant experience in the global EdTech industry — spanning startups, growth-stage companies, investing, or corporate EdTech — with AI in education experience strongly preferred. You bring the industry standing and stage presence to represent GSV publicly, including moderating high-profile programming such as Star Track.
- Excellent networks in EdTech and education and a strong system for staying engaged and up to date with founder communities
- Demonstrated success in product or program management, or driving revenue through strategic partnerships, or B2B sales in EdTech or adjacent sectors.
- Familiarity with the growth and investing landscape — you understand how founders build and how investors evaluate opportunities at the earliest stages.
- EdTech Expertise: You have direct experience in or adjacent to the EdTech ecosystem — startups, investing, or company-building — and not only understand how it intersects with PreK-12, Higher Ed, and Workforce, but are driven by a deep intellectual curiosity for innovation.
- Connector & Relationship Builder: You have a talent for building authentic relationships and connecting ideas to opportunity — especially in complex, cross-sector spaces. You're energized by collaborating with founders, investors, and leaders at all levels.
- AI-obsessed: You bring deep curiosity about how AI is and will impact education and EdTech, and you're excited to explore emerging technologies with founders, investors, and thought leaders.
- Strategic Thinking Meets Execution: You're both a big-picture thinker and a detail-oriented executor. You thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy toggling between high-level vision and practical execution.
- Strong Communicator: You can synthesize complex ideas into crisp, compelling messaging — whether you're writing speaker invitations, crafting session descriptions, or pitching a new idea to a partner.
- Entrepreneurial Energy: You approach ambiguity with optimism, creativity, and a bias toward action. You're energized by building, iterating, and moving fast to bring ideas to life — while staying organized and calm under pressure.
- Collaborative & Curious: You're a skilled collaborator who values feedback, iteration, and cross-functional teamwork — and a true thought partner to the VP of Program. You're always learning, especially when it comes to AI, tech, and the evolving PreK to Gray landscape.
- Tech-Forward & Tech-Savvy: You're facile with tools like Airtable, Cvent, Google Workspace, and AI-powered platforms that boost efficiency, creativity, and business outcomes.
