Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Healthcare Services Group, Inc. (HCSG) is seeking a high-energy, disciplined Director of Project Management to lead the Project Management Office (PMO) and build the structure needed to deploy enterprise initiatives across hundreds of facilities. This leader will establish consistent project management practices and ensure initiatives are supported by clear business cases, realistic resource plans, and comprehensive rollout strategies.

The successful candidate will oversee the project portfolio, coordinate acquisition integrations, and partner with corporate and field leaders to deliver projects on time, within budget, and in alignment with business priorities. This role requires strong financial judgment, practical knowledge of technology implementations, and the ability to gain support from stakeholders and frontline teams.

Position Responsibilities:

PMO Leadership and Governance

  • Establish and maintain a unified project management playbook, including project intake, charters, planning templates, approval checkpoints, and reporting standards.
  • Apply Agile, Lean Six Sigma, and Waterfall practices as appropriate to the scope and complexity of each initiative.
  • Define project objectives, deliverables, ownership, success measures, and acceptance criteria with business sponsors.
  • Coach project managers and functional project leads to strengthen delivery discipline and accountability.

Project Delivery and Facility Rollouts

  • Oversee system migrations, new initiatives, and technology installations from planning through implementation and transition to ongoing operations.
  • Develop integrated project plans covering milestones, dependencies, communications, training, testing, and deployment readiness.
  • Coordinate phased rollouts with corporate and facility leaders to minimize disruption to daily operations and client service.
  • Track risks, issues, and scope changes; escalate barriers and drive corrective actions to keep projects on schedule.

Portfolio Planning and Resource Allocation

  • Maintain a prioritized portfolio aligned with business strategy, organizational capacity, and expected value.
  • Partner with department leaders to allocate staff, vendor support, and capital resources while balancing project needs with daily responsibilities.
  • Identify resource conflicts and project dependencies; recommend adjustments to priorities, sequencing, or staffing.

Financial Management and Reporting

  • Develop business cases and return on investment models with Finance and business owners, documenting costs, benefits, assumptions, and risks.
  • Manage the project portfolio budget, monitor spending and forecasts, and address variances with project sponsors.
  • Implement a real-time portfolio dashboard showing project status, milestones, spending, risks, and overall health.
  • Review completed projects to measure results against approved business cases and incorporate lessons learned.

Acquisition Integration

  • Lead acquisition integration planning and execution across relevant departments, with clear workstreams, owners, milestones, and escalation paths.
  • Coordinate the transition of acquired entities into HCSG operating procedures, systems, reporting, and project management practices.
  • Track integration readiness, operational dependencies, and post-transition issues to support continuity and successful adoption.

Stakeholder Engagement and Change Management

  • Serve as the primary project liaison among business leaders, IT, Finance, HR, Operations, and other relevant departments.
  • Build stakeholder support, resolve competing priorities, and communicate decisions and project impacts clearly.
  • Coordinate communications, training, and readiness assessments so corporate and frontline teams can adopt new systems and processes.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of PMO leadership experience, with a strong focus on strategy, consulting, or project delivery.
  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree required.
  • Professional credentials such as Certified Associate in PMO (CA-PMO) or PMI Project Management Office Certified Professional (PMI-PMOCP) preferred.
  • Strong understanding of IT environments, including ERP integration, data analytics, and project management software and systems.
  • Experience developing complex business cases, ROI models, project budgets, and portfolio reporting.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, including the ability to gain support from skeptical stakeholders and frontline staff.

Success Indicators for the First 12 Months

  • Establish a unified project management playbook used across all projects.
  • Launch a real-time dashboard showing the status, spending, and health of all active projects.
  • Successfully integrate at least two acquired entities into HCSG standard operating procedures within the first 12 months.

Join Healthcare Services Group and help deliver the initiatives that support our teams, facilities, and clients. If you have the skills and experience outlined above, we invite you to apply for this opportunity.
