Your role at Clorox:
The Director of Sales is the sales functional leader for Kingsford and a critical member of the business unit leadership team. This role owns the cross-channel sales strategy and translates business strategy into executable national plans that deliver annual sales, profit and gross margin commitments while building the multi-year roadmap for category, customer and share growth. The leader brings a GM mindset, integrates consumer, customer and enterprise perspectives, and develops the sales capabilities, talent and succession readiness required for sustained performance.In this role, you will:
• Set sales strategy and translate it into execution: Own the cross-channel strategy and business plan for Kingsford categories and brands. Convert business priorities into an operational roadmap with performance-based KPIs, clear choices, resources and accountabilities.
• Lead category and customer planning: Shape integrated customer and category plans by connecting consumer needs, customer strategies, market trends and business unit priorities. Guide development of the 18-month plan, annual business plan, category vision, innovation roadmap and sufficiency choices.
• Develop and deploy the national business plan: Lead launch of key initiatives, trade budget choices and iterations, and cross-channel planning. Anticipate channel dynamics and ensure plans are executable through customer teams and cross-functional partners.
• Manage business performance and risk: Deliver annual sales, profit and gross margin goals. In partnership with Integrated Business Planning (IBP) team, including S&OE and S&OP, to identify risks and opportunities early, make choices and mobilize action with customers and internal teams.
• Advance revenue growth and transformation: Provide leadership across innovation, NRM, pricing, trade optimization, PPA and MTO work. Navigate market volatility and disruption, adjusting strategy while protecting longterm value creation.
• Influence across the enterprise: Represent Sales on relevant leadership teams and bring a clear customer and commercial perspective. Build effective partnerships across Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, Insights, 3D teams and external customer counterparts.
• Build organization capability and bench strength: Attract, coach, empower and retain strong talent. Create an inclusive and innovative culture, actively manage staffing and succession, and translate business needs into sales capability and development priorities.
• Lead with accountability and judgment: Set a clear vision and roadmap, communicate for the intended audience, surface risks and opportunities in a timely way, make decisive choices and hold self and team accountable for outcomes
What we look for:
• Ten or more years of progressive sales, customer leadership or sales planning experience in a related environment; CPG experience preferred.
• Strong people leadership experience, including leading, developing and coaching a team; building culture and bench strength; and managing talent and succession.
• Direct experience leading a customer team and navigating cross-channel choices.
• Demonstrated ownership of multi-year customer or business planning and development and deployment of a national business plan.
• Experience leading or materially contributing to transformation, change or business turnaround work with sustainable results, including exposure to innovation, NRM and/or MTO project management.
• Direct experience with key elements of CCP and fluency in integrated business planning processes, including S&OE and S&OP, with responsibility for managing business risks and opportunities.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior leadership, prioritize business unit resources and deliver short- and longterm business or organizational results.
• Strong financial acumen and business judgment, including P&L understanding.

We use broad salary ranges that reflect the competitive market for similar jobs, provide sufficient opportunity for growth as you gain experience and expand responsibilities, while also allowing for differentiation based on performance. Based on the breadth of our ranges, most new hires will start at Clorox in the first half of the applicable range. Your starting pay will depend on job-related factors, including relevant skills, knowledge, experience and location. The applicable salary range for every role in the U.S. is based on your work location and is aligned to one of three zones according to the cost of labor in your area.
–Zone A: $179,500 - $369,700
–Zone B: $164,500 - $338,900
–Zone C: $149,600 - $308,100

This job is also eligible for participation in Clorox’s incentive plans, subject to the terms of the applicable plan documents and policies.
