Who We Are

FTI Consulting is the leading global expert firm for organizations facing crisis and transformation. We work with many of the world’s top multinational corporations, law firms, banks and private equity firms on their most important issues to deliver impact that makes a difference. From resolving disputes, navigating crises, managing risk and optimizing performance, our teams respond rapidly to dynamic and complex situations.

At FTI Consulting, you’ll work side-by side with leaders who have shaped history, helping solve the biggest challenges making headlines today. From day one, you’ll be an integral part of a focused team where you can make a real impact. You’ll be surrounded by an open, collaborative culture that embraces diversity, recognition, professional development and, most importantly, you.

Are you ready to make your impact?

About The Role

Our Privacy team helps clients build, operationalize, mature, and scale their privacy programs by combining deep privacy expertise with hands-on technical capabilities. Our integrated suite of services includes privacy program strategy, development, and management; regulatory readiness and compliance; data protection and privacy impact assessments; privacy technology implementation; and data governance for clients across all major markets around the world. Our team works at the intersection of privacy and technology, advising clients' legal, compliance, and business stakeholders on complex and evolving regulatory landscapes while delivering practical, scalable solutions that embed privacy into day-to-day operations.

We are looking for a Director to join our Privacy team in a hands-on delivery and project management role. You will lead privacy consulting and advisory engagements supporting privacy risk and impact assessments, regulatory readiness and compliance, data governance, privacy program and policy development, and the configuration and implementation of privacy management platforms. You will manage day-to-day delivery and client relationships in partnership with engagement leadership. You will also be expected to manage, coach and develop junior team members.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a practical, problem-solving mindset and the flexibility to work across diverse industries and subject areas, with hands-on experience in emerging privacy technologies such as Data Inventory and Mapping solutions, Consent Management Platforms (CMPs), and Data Subject Access Request (DSAR) systems. In this role, you will be conducting assessments, configuring privacy tools, analyzing findings, and preparing client-ready deliverables. It requires strong engagement management skills, applied privacy knowledge, and technical curiosity. You should be comfortable independently leading workstreams, making day-to-day delivery decisions, and communicating directly with clients while partnering with senior engagement leaders on engagement strategy.

What You'll Do

In this role, the Director will lead client engagements and workstreams at the intersection of privacy and technology. You will own the quality of project deliverables and help shape internal initiatives. Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following:

  • Perform hands-on configuration and implementation of privacy management platforms (e.g., OneTrust, TrustArc, Ketch) to support the deployment of client-facing privacy program solutions, including data inventory and mapping, CMPs, DSAR workflows, third-party risk management portals, and privacy notice and policy management tools;
  • Lead privacy risk, gap, and impact assessments (e.g., PIAs and DPIAs) against applicable laws and frameworks, and develop prioritized remediation roadmaps;
  • Design and enhance privacy program components, including policies, procedures, governance structures, records of processing, and data retention schedules;
  • Develop and review client materials (e.g., strategic memos, project status updates, privacy assessments, presentations, policy and procedure documents, gap analysis reports, regulatory or compliance updates, and external and internal communications content) ensuring they are accurate, practical and client-ready;
  • Develop recommendations on consent models for online tracking technologies (e.g., cookies, pixels, and SDK(s) across websites and mobile applications; perform website scans, analyze findings, and configure and roll out consent management tools and practical technical measures to support consent and preference management obligations;
  • Manage workstreams and day-to-day client communications, including coordinating meetings, reporting progress, and following up on action items; supervise, coach, and review the work of junior team members;
  • Track workstream timelines, resource needs, and budget usage, and proactively identify and mitigate variances or delivery risks, escalating to engagement leadership as appropriate to support resource allocation and project financial management;
  • Contribute to business development through proposal development, thought leadership, and the creation of standardized methodologies and reusable work products; and
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving privacy regulations to continuously enhance the quality and relevance of client solutions.

How You'll Grow

This is an opportunity to expand your privacy leadership through hands-on client work across diverse industries. You will take ownership of engagement delivery and client relationships in close collaboration with FTI leadership and teams. As you develop, you will take on increasing responsibility for engagement strategy, team development, and client growth. You will also play an active role in business development by leading to proposals and client strategies while building a professional network across a broad range of sectors and privacy disciplines.

What You Will Need To Succeed

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Law, Political Science, or a related field;
  • 5+ years of total professional experience, including relevant experience in privacy consulting, privacy program management, or a closely related field, with demonstrated exposure to both regulatory compliance and practical privacy program implementation;
  • Hands-on experience configuring or supporting the configuration and deployment of privacy management and website scanning platforms such as OneTrust, Ketch, Syrenis, ObservePoint, Osano, etc.
  • Strong working knowledge of privacy regulations and frameworks, including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, HIPAA, and other applicable U.S. state-level, federal, and international privacy laws, and their practical application in a consulting or corporate environment;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships, lead project workstreams, and mentor or oversee junior team members;
  • Ability to travel to FTI offices and client sites as needed; and
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; this position does not provide visa sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US and/or CIPP/E) and/or Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) certification from IAPP;
  • OneTrust platform certifications;
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent client engagements in a fast-paced, deadline-driven consulting environment;
  • Experience leveraging AI tools to enhance the efficiency and quality of privacy engagements, such as data discovery, privacy assessments, and DSAR automation;
  • Experience developing and presenting client-facing deliverables such as privacy assessments, gap analyses, roadmaps, and policy documentation; and
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with legal, compliance, operational, and executive stakeholders.
