Build the PMO. Shape Enterprise Delivery.

Ob Hospitalist Group (OBHG) is seeking a Director, Program Management Office (PMO) to build and lead our first enterprise PMO. This is an opportunity to establish the operating model, recruit and develop Project Managers, and turn organizational strategy into a coordinated portfolio of initiatives with measurable business value.
Reporting to the SVP, Strategy, Marketing & Experience, you will partner with executive and business leaders to guide portfolio prioritization, strengthen project governance, and align resources with enterprise priorities. You will combine strategic leadership with hands-on delivery oversight, bringing particular depth in SaaS implementations, cross-functional program management, and organizational change management.
If you have built or matured a PMO, led Project Managers, and delivered complex technology initiatives from planning through adoption, this role offers the opportunity to shape a new enterprise function.

What You’ll Lead

PMO Development & Team Leadership

  • Define the PMO operating model, project management standards, governance framework, staffing plan, and maturity roadmap.
  • Recruit, coach, and develop Project Managers while providing hands-on support for complex or at-risk projects.
  • Select and implement portfolio management technology, dashboards, and reporting tools.

Enterprise Portfolio Management & Governance

  • Establish project intake and stage gates that require defined baselines, budgets, and accountable owners before work begins.
  • Maintain the enterprise portfolio roadmap and prioritization framework, presenting investment, sequencing, and resource trade-offs to senior leadership.
  • Coordinate cross-project dependencies and shared IT and subject matter expert capacity.
  • Lead governance forums and Steering Committee cycles, tracking decisions through execution.

SaaS Implementation & Program Delivery

  • Oversee interdependent SaaS initiatives, including integrations, data migration, testing, cutover, adoption, and legacy system retirement.
  • Establish a repeatable implementation playbook and require documented operational handoffs before go-live.
  • Support vendor selection, contract and statement of work reviews, and total-cost analysis in partnership with IT, Security, Legal, Compliance, and Procurement.
  • Apply consistent delivery standards to AI-enabled solutions.

Performance, Financial & Value Management

  • Monitor portfolio scope, schedules, budgets, resources, risks, and issues; lead escalation and recovery planning when needed.
  • Build executive-ready dashboards, KPIs, and reporting, including board or investor updates when required.
  • Partner with Finance on budgets, forecasts, scenario planning, and cost-benefit analysis.
  • Establish preimplementation baselines and track value realization after go-live.
  • Drive accountability across business, IT, Finance, clinical, and operational teams.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in portfolio, project, or program management, PMO leadership, or strategic execution, including 4+ years directly leading Project Managers.
  • Demonstrated experience leading end-to-end SaaS implementations, including vendor engagement, integration, data migration, testing, go-live, and adoption.
  • Experience managing interdependent initiatives as a coordinated program.
  • Success building or maturing PMO frameworks and governance, facilitating steering committees, and supporting executive decisions.
  • Experience with vendor selection and commercial oversight, including vendor scoring, statements of work, and total-cost analysis.
  • Fluency in predictive and Agile delivery approaches.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, including the ability to create executive-quality dashboards and presentations without analyst support.
  • Proven change management experience, strong financial acumen, and the ability to influence senior leaders and drive results without direct authority.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • PfMP, PgMP, PMI-ACP, Prosci, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent credentials.
  • Experience across platforms such as workforce scheduling and payroll, ERP and finance, CRM and marketing automation, quality management, or analytics.
  • Working knowledge of integration and data concepts and experience delivering AI-enabled solutions.
  • Experience in healthcare, healthcare staffing, or similarly regulated operations, including handling protected health information (PHI) and supporting vendor privacy and security reviews.
  • Experience reporting to a board or investor group and managing agency delivery partners.

What Success Looks Like

You will establish a staffed, operational PMO that gives leadership reliable visibility into portfolio performance, costs, capacity, and risks. Initiatives will begin with clear baselines, budgets, and accountable owners—and achieve go-live and adoption within approved scope, timelines, and budgets.
