FactSet creates flexible, open data and software solutions for over 200,000 investment professionals worldwide, providing instant access to financial data and analytics that investors use to make crucial decisions.
At FactSet, our values are the foundation of everything we do. They express how we act and operate, serve as a compass in our decision-making, and play a big role in how we treat each other, our clients, and our communities. We believe that the best ideas can come from anyone, anywhere, at any time, and that curiosity is the key to anticipating our clients’ needs and exceeding their expectations.
Your Team's Impact
The Data Transformation team is at the forefront of modernizing FactSet's Data Refinery. We build platforms, frameworks, and automation capabilities that transform how data is acquired, enriched, governed, and delivered across the enterprise. By combining data engineering, AI-driven workflows, quality frameworks, and scalable platform tooling, the team enables faster product innovation, improved operational efficiency, and AI-ready data that powers the next generation of FactSet products and client experiences.
Based in Hyderabad in a hybrid role, the Director / Senior Principal Product Manager - Document Strategy will own the enterprise product strategy for converting global unstructured financial content into machine-ready intelligence. This visible, platform-level role connects Data Refinery, AI Foundry, Technology, and Product teams across regions and requires schedule flexibility for global collaboration.
What You'll Do
- Own document strategy and 0-to-1 platform delivery. Define the vision, positioning, roadmap, and launch plan for a unified document acquisition, ingestion, storage, enrichment, and routing platform. Balance rapid experimentation with resilient enterprise infrastructure and measurable business outcomes.
- Productize machine-ready document preparation. Lead capabilities for web, ftp/Sftp, API, RSS feeds, etc. Acquisition, document storage, orchestration of document metadata enrichment, native text extraction, layout-aware parsing, OCR, multilingual translation, normalization, point-in-time handling, and schema-valid JSON/XML outputs across filings, news, press releases, broker research, transcripts, and third-party content.
- Build retrieval, linking, and lifecycle foundations. Drive hybrid lexical and semantic search, intelligent chunking, embeddings, re-ranking, entity resolution, source linking, metadata catalogs, and scalable document lake/Lakehouse patterns for high-volume unstructured content.
- Enable event-driven and human-in-the-loop workflows. Turn document signals into real-time triggers for autonomous structured-data production and client-facing agentic workflows. Design exception routing, curation experiences, auditability, and feedback loops that improve upstream models and prompts.
- Lead cross-functional execution and platform performance. Align Data, AI, Technology, Product, Quality teams around requirements, governance, adoption, and delivery. Own KPIs spanning time-to-market, trigger precision and latency, ingestion timeliness, parsing accuracy, search performance, HITL efficiency, scalability, cost, and platform adoption.
What We're Looking For
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in computer science, engineering, information systems, finance, or a related field.
- 10+ years of technical product management experience, including a demonstrated record of launching 0-to-1 enterprise data platforms, search infrastructure, document intelligence, or NLP/AI production capabilities.
- Strong product and technical depth across document ingestion, OCR and layout-aware parsing, multilingual processing, metadata extraction, intelligent chunking, and machine-ready data contracts.
- Deep familiarity with enterprise search and retrieval, including Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, or Solr; hybrid lexical-plus-vector retrieval; embeddings; vector databases; RAG; and re-ranking architectures.
- Working knowledge of unstructured data lake/Lakehouse patterns, cloud object storage, metadata and retention models, event-driven processing, multi-agent orchestration, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
- Understanding of financial documents and workflows, including regulatory filings, news, research, transcripts, point-in-time data, source traceability, and structured-data production domains.
- Proven ability to lead through influence across global, matrixed teams, operate effectively amid ambiguity, communicate with senior executives, and collaborate across international time zones.
What Success Looks Like
The successful candidate will help FactSet:
- Establish a single document platform supporting filings, news, regulatory content, research, transcripts, and web-acquired documents that serve multiple data domains.
- Reduce duplicate acquisition and processing efforts across Data Refinery.
- Create enterprise-wide discoverability of document inventory and source coverage.
- Standardize metadata, lineage, and document governance practices.
- Accelerate AI-driven extraction, search, and agentic workflows through machine-ready documents
Desired Skills
- Experience productizing event and signal extraction for financial content and connecting triggers to downstream data-collection or research workflows.
- Familiarity with stream-processing technologies such as Kafka or Flink and Lakehouse technologies such as Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake, or Apache Hive.
- Experience with vector databases such as Pinecone, Qdrant, Milvus, or PGVector and with evaluation approaches such as regression benchmarks or LLM-as-a-judge.
- Experience designing internal curation, annotation, or verification tooling with strong auditability and institutional controls.
- Knowledge of Model Context Protocol (MCP), semantic layers, knowledge graphs, and citation-aware agentic architectures.
