Behind every great hire is a team that understands the business, builds meaningful relationships, and makes people feel valued. At Advocate Health, we’re looking for a Director of Corporate & Leadership Recruiting who brings that approach to life - through strong leadership, thoughtful strategy, and consistent execution.
Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Talent Acquisition Delivery, you’ll lead recruiting for corporate functions and leadership roles at the Director through Associate Vice President levels. You’ll partner with business and People & Culture leaders to translate organizational priorities into hiring strategies that deliver results. This opportunity is for a leader who enjoys developing people, solving complex hiring challenges, and turning good ideas into better ways of working.
The impact you’ll make
· Develop a strong recruiting team. Coach, mentor, and hold recruiters accountable while creating an environment where people feel supported, share ideas, and grow.
· Connect recruiting strategy to business needs. Anticipate hiring demands, identify gaps, and build proactive talent pipelines for corporate and leadership opportunities.
· Create moments that matter. Deliver a thoughtful, responsive experience that helps candidates feel informed, respected, and connected throughout the hiring process.
· Build trusted partnerships. Consult with hiring leaders on talent availability, selection strategies, and complex hiring needs across a varied portfolio.
· Use data to drive action. Translate recruiting dashboards and performance trends into clear priorities that improve hiring speed, service, productivity, and quality.
· Improve how work gets done. Identify barriers, simplify processes, and introduce practical solutions that help recruiters and hiring leaders succeed.
· Strengthen our talent reach. Partner with workforce development and employer brand teams to support strategic priorities and build awareness of career opportunities.
· Lead with sound judgment. Oversee team performance, development, staffing, and budget responsibilities while ensuring consistent, ethical hiring practices aligned with applicable laws and organizational policies.
What you’ll bring
· A bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field.
· Typically, seven years of human resources experience, including three years of management experience leading recruiting, human resources, or service center teams.
· Demonstrated success coaching teams, setting clear expectations, and holding others accountable.
· Strong listening, consulting, and communication skills, with the ability to build credibility across candidates, hiring leaders, and People & Culture partners.
· Experience translating complex hiring needs into actionable recruiting solutions.
· The ability to interpret recruiting metrics, identify opportunities, and lead improvements through implementation.
· Strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize competing demands in a complex organization.
· Adaptability, resilience, and a steady approach to leading through change.
· Knowledge of employment laws and regulations affecting talent acquisition.
· Proficiency with applicant tracking systems, human capital management technology, and Microsoft Office or similar tools.
No licensure or certification is required.
