Job Summary

Sunpan is looking for a hands-on technology leader for our technology and digital transformation strategy. The Director will define how we structure, grow and continuously improve our IT function, guide the implementation of business systems, and lead our innovation, AI and automation strategy in line with the organization's priorities.

Technology is central to how Sunpan grows, and this role sets its direction. Working side by side with the executive team, you will decide where we invest, how the IT function is organized and which tools and ideas help us work smarter. You will build on a focused team and shape it into a function the whole business relies on.

About The Role:

Technology Leadership and Team Building

• Lead, mentor and develop the IT team, and recommend the roles, structure and skills needed as the department grows.
• Establish a roadmap and operating model for IT that supports continuous improvement, reliability and scalability.
• Manage vendors, service providers and consultants, including contracts, performance and budgets.
• Design and build the core IT infrastructure and architecture, including enterprise systems, integrations, networks, security and support, that will serve as the backbone for Sunpan’s growth.

Strategy, Innovation and Business Cases

• Lead the development and execution of an innovation, technology, AI and automation strategy aligned with organizational priorities.
• Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and digital solutions that improve operations, efficiency and overall performance.
• Prepare business cases, ROI analyses and recommendations for the executive team to support technology investments.

Systems Implementation and Optimization

• Serve as the lead and escalation point for enterprise system implementations and upgrades, from requirements through go-live and adoption.
• Own the SAP landscape strategy, working with the business analyst, functional leads and implementation partners.
• Oversee and integrate other core business platforms, including HubSpot (CRM and marketing), warehouse management systems (WMS) and EDI.
• Improve workflows across sales, supply chain, warehousing, finance and customer service through process redesign, integration and automation.

• Oversee the technology project portfolio, including planning, prioritization, resourcing, timelines, budgets and status reporting to the executive team.

AI and Digital Adoption

• Lead AI and digital transformation initiatives from concept to implementation, partnering with business leaders, technical teams and end users.
• Identify where AI can enhance efficiency and deliver measurable value.
• Drive adoption through training, change management, communication and user engagement.

Governance, Security and Risk

• Establish policies, standards and governance practices for IT and the responsible use of AI.
• Establish governance for the IT function, including vendor and contract management, technology budgets, financial reporting, and resource allocation.
• Identify and manage technology-related risks across the organization, including cybersecurity, privacy, and information security.
• Ensure technology aligns with cybersecurity, privacy and information management policies.
• Support technology risk management, business continuity and compliance requirements.

Let's Talk About You:

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years of progressive IT experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
• Strong, hands-on SAP experience, including implementation, support and integration.
• Experience managing technology vendors and contracts, and allocating budgets and resources across a portfolio of projects
• Proven track record leading enterprise system implementations from planning through adoption.
• Experience with HubSpot, warehouse management systems and EDI in a supply chain, wholesale or distribution environment.
• Demonstrated ability to build business cases and present to executives.
• Working knowledge of cybersecurity, privacy and IT governance frameworks.
• Excellent communication, change management and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working with consulting groups, architecture firms or other project-based professional services companies.
• Practical experience applying artificial intelligence, automation and enterprise technology to improve business processes.
• Experience developing technology roadmaps, security and governance frameworks and policies, and implementation plans, with strong project management skills.

Preferred:

• Deep SAP expertise, plus hands-on experience with HubSpot and warehouse management systems.
• Experience in furniture, consumer goods, retail or import/distribution.

• Practical experience deploying AI and automation tools in a business setting.
• Experience building or restructuring an IT department in a small-to-mid-sized company.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL, SAP, CISSP or CISM).
