Your Mission:
Your mission as a critical member of our Fleet Operations team, is to establish strategic OEM and dealer partnerships while building a best-in-class procurement operation powered by data and technology—enabling predictable stock availability, improved margins, and faster fulfillment for our customers. Your goal is to procure fleet more efficiently so that we can accelerate the transition of ICE vehicles (internal combustion engine) to EVs (electric vehicles) and decarbonize our planet. The Director of Acquisitions leads the sourcing and procurement of vehicles, equipment, parts, and services that support the company's fleet maintenance operations and its clients' fleets. The role owns the order-to-delivery pipeline, vendor and OEM relationships, cost and contract negotiation, and the verification and documentation controls that ensure what is ordered is what is delivered, billed, and serviceable. Success depends equally on commercial acumen, operational discipline, and sound, confidential judgment in vendor and client dealings. Additionally, this role will be responsible for growing and developing technology, processes and controls for the Acquisition team.
You will report to: VP, Fleet Operations
Key Responsibilities:
- Build teams, process and systems to accommodate OOS, Upfit and Factory ordering acquisitions
- Own and manage all OEM and Upfit relationships
- Source and procure Out of Stock and Factory Order vehicles including vocational upfits
- Own the order-to-delivery pipeline (including Upfit) and consistently meet required in-service dates, escalating and communicating proactively when timing is at risk
- Verify every purchase against a window sticker and/or detailed build sheet, confirm specs before delivery and payment, and retain records digitally
- Negotiate and manage vendor and OEM contracts, rates, SLAs, and warranty terms, holding partners accountable to them
- Develop, build and manage secondary dealer code and OEM Factory ordering to include API data transfers and OEM vehicle locating tools
- Reconcile quotes, purchase orders, and invoices so that ordered, delivered, and billed always match. Full and complete knowledge of dealer rebates, incentives and available pricing reductions
- Protect customer confidentiality — sharing client identities with vendors only where a signed contract and NDA are in place
- Lead, develop, and hold accountable the acquisitions team, and coordinate cross-functionally with operations, sales, and client success
- Maintain timely, proactive updates to internal and external business partners through the company's workflow systems
- Plan and manage the build out of our Fleet Procurement team to support our vehicle portfolio growth
- Plan and build acquisition platforms that best utilize technology and efficiency to meet growing business needs
Who You Are:
- Progressive experience in fleet or automotive acquisition/procurement; including a leadership role
- Experience building and supporting technology roadmaps and implementing technology solutions
- Working knowledge of OEM / Dealer vehicle pricing, specs, build sheets, upfitting, and OEM/dealer fleet processes
- Demonstrated strength in contract negotiation, vendor management, and cost analysis
- Demonstrate knowledge of dealership / OEM incentives and discounts
- Demonstrate OEM, Dealer and Upfit connections and relationships
- Fluency with fleet/maintenance management platforms, ERP, and procurement/workflow tools
- Track record of process discipline, documentation, and proactive stakeholder communication
- Our core values (see below) are part of your inherent DNA, and you have many examples of when you demonstrated these values in your career
Salary: $140,000- $160,000 + Bonus Eligibility
