About Crown Agents Bank Crown Agents Bank is a rapidly growing, regulated UK bank connecting emerging and frontier markets to the world through innovative FX and payments technology. Our mission is simple: reduce friction so more money reaches those who need it. For over 200 years we’ve built trusted networks across hard‑to‑reach markets. Today, we pair that heritage with digital innovation to support fintechs, corporates, governments, development organisations and banks with cross‑border payments and FX solutions. Role Purpose The role purpose is to support the entrepreneurial syndication and distribution of credit facilities originated across the Bank’s client franchise, helping to broaden the Bank’s investor base across banks, development finance institutions, credit insurers and wider institutional capital providers. Integrated within the Lending business unit, the role works closely with origination, structuring, coverage and control functions to shape fundable and distributable transactions, mobilise third-party capital, improve portfolio and capital efficiency, and support the Bank’s growth strategy across trade finance, structured finance and commodity finance. Role Responsibilities Broaden and deepen the Bank’s distribution and investor network across banks, non-bank financial institutions, development finance institutions, credit insurers, private credit and private equity credit funds, fixed-income and emerging-market debt funds, asset managers, family offices, insurance investors and other institutional capital providers. Develop and maintain a detailed investor appetite and market-intelligence framework, ensuring likely funding sources are identified early and that investor requirements inform transaction development, pricing, structuring and marketing. Execute distribution strategies for trade-finance assets and facilities on a funded and unfunded basis, including the preparation and coordination of transaction summaries, teasers, information memoranda, investor presentations, data rooms and other marketing materials. Act as a subject-matter expert for the placement of structured finance and commodity finance risk, assessing distributability and marketability across cash flows, collateral, borrowing-base mechanics, security arrangements, credit enhancement, repayment sources and other relevant risk mitigants. Work with Origination, Structuring and Coverage to convert opportunities into fundable, executable and investor-ready transactions, including commodity finance, structured credit, portfolio solutions, risk-sharing structures and other transactions designed to mobilise institutional capital. Identify and structure appropriate combinations of bank funding, institutional capital, development finance and credit insurance to support transactions requiring multiple sources of risk capacity. Manage syndication opportunities end to end, including opportunity assessment, syndication strategy, client pitches, approval materials, syndicate formation, investor engagement, documentation, execution, financial close and any post-closing sell-down. Coordinate lender and investor communications throughout syndication and distribution processes, ensuring consistent, accurate and timely information is provided and that confidentiality, due diligence, pricing, allocation and closing processes are managed effectively. Collaborate with Coverage, Product, Credit, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Operations, Finance and other stakeholders to identify opportunities early, support cross-selling, capture client flows and ensure transactions meet the Bank’s credit, legal, regulatory, operational and commercial objectives. Monitor market developments across syndicated lending, private credit, structured finance, commodity finance, credit insurance and emerging-market fixed income, identifying trends that may affect investor appetite, pricing or transaction structures. Represent the Bank with investors, clients and market participants at meetings, conferences and external forums, including acting as a public speaker, panellist or Bank representative when required and where significant travel may be necessary. Qualification Relevant degree, professional qualification or equivalent experience in banking, finance, capital markets, credit, structured finance, trade finance or a related discipline. Fluency in written and spoken English is essential; fluency in one or more additional languages is desirable. Experience Minimum five years’ relevant experience in syndications, distribution, structured finance, commodity finance, private credit placement, emerging-market credit or a closely related role, preferably with direct emerging-markets exposure. Demonstrable track record of distributing or placing trade finance, structured finance and commodity finance risk across bank, insurance, development finance and institutional investor channels. Established access to buy-side investors and alternative capital providers, including private credit funds, asset managers, specialist trade and commodity funds, family offices and insurance investors. Strong technical knowledge of trade-finance products, primary loan syndication, funded and unfunded participations, assignments, secondary loan sales, credit insurance and banking operations. Strong understanding of credit risk, transaction structuring, risk allocation, pricing, investor requirements and the full execution cycle from market sounding through to documentation, allocation and closing. Able to evaluate complex emerging-market transactions and translate them into clear, credible investor propositions. Entrepreneurial, commercially focused and proactive, with strong relationship-building, communication, presentation and stakeholder-management skills. Highly organised and accountable, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple workstreams under pressure and within tight deadlines. Desirable experience includes local-currency emerging-market investment, portfolio or structured credit distribution, relationships with DFIs, MDBs, ECAs, sovereign or specialist investors, and development of new investor channels or distribution capabilities. Hybrid working Contributory personal pension plan: - Minimum: Employee 2% and Employer 7%.
