Dover Precision Components is hiring a Document Control Specialist at our Rosenberg, Texas manufacturing facility- product line: FW Murphy. This position supports production, engineering, and quality teams. We manufacture and deliver a wide range of instrumentation and control solutions for the Oil & Gas Production and Natural Gas Compression markets. Our products improve the protection, performance, and reliability of the Natural Gas Supply Chain while protecting our environment and creating systems and equipment to help producers stay in compliance and meet stringent emission regulations. WHAT YOU’LL DO
The Document Control Specialist at FW Murphy is responsible for managing the entire lifecycle of production and quality related documentation. Responsibilities include:
Document Management
- Manage the document control database, including tracking systems for FW Murphy's records and document revision level status.
- Support the workflow and delivery of required documents, releasing new and revised documents through Agile.
- Maintain the Quality Management System for the electronic distribution of approved controlled documents through Agile PLM.
- Ensure proper handling of quality documents, including policies, procedures, templates, and administrative records.
- Assist with internal and external audits as required by the document control procedure.
- Implement and oversee document control procedures to ensure that all records are up-to-date, accessible, applicable, documented, and uploaded in Agile.
- Manage document control systems or databases, ensuring they are secure, updated, and user-friendly.
- Support the release process and the upload of 8D and PFMA documents in Agile.
- Verify that all documentation adheres to industry standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Train staff in document control procedures and the use of document management systems.
- Provide support to internal teams for any document-related queries.
Engineering
- Maintain and organize engineering documents, including drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
- Develop, manage, and maintain document control systems for all projects and programs.
- Create a numerical document system, file documentation, and oversee review/control packages.
- Gather, log electronically, and distribute various engineering documents while maintaining established files of drawings and correspondence.
- Create and maintain distribution list matrices in Agile. Receive, log, and distribute all vendor documents.
- Upload and download documentation from the client system.
- Support the collection of records from the PPAP (Production Part Approval Process).
Team Collaboration
- Collaborate with engineering, product management, and other departments to gather, distribute, and archive documents.
- Ensure clear communication regarding document statuses, revisions, and updates.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, project management, or a related field is preferred. Relevant project, quality, and/or documentation experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience in administration, documentation, and/or project management, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to effectively communicate complex results and recommendations in a dynamic environment.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work with speed and accuracy.
- Ability to investigate complex issues and conduct root cause analysis.
- Passion for creating innovative approaches to solve abstract business problems.
- Hands-on experience with MS Office and MS Excel. Strong typing and editing skills.
- Strong data organize skills.
- Excellent communication skills.

- Proven work experience as a Document Controller or similar role.
- Familiarity with project management.
- Basic knowledge of labor and corporate law.
- Knowledge of Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS).
