Position Overview
The Arizona Department of Education is seeking an experienced .NET Full-Stack Developer to develop, enhance, troubleshoot, and maintain web applications and backend processes supporting statewide education systems used by over one million K-12 students, parents, teachers, and school staff.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience with C#, .NET, Microsoft Azure, SQL Server, and Power BI. This role involves developing new application features, maintaining existing systems, debugging issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of professional software application development experience.
- Strong full-stack development experience using C# and .NET Framework.
- Experience with .NET Core 3.1 and above.
- Strong knowledge of ASP.NET Web API, ASP.NET MVC, and Razor Pages.
- Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and Bootstrap.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure, including:
- Azure App Services

- Azure Functions

- Azure Storage Accounts
- Strong SQL Server development skills, including stored procedures and functions.
- Experience with relational database modeling and design.
- Power BI development experience, including semantic models, reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, SOLID principles, and software design patterns.
- Experience with application implementation, unit testing, debugging, and troubleshooting.
Preferred Skills
- Current hands-on experience with .NET 6 or later and Blazor applications.
- Azure DevOps, Team Foundation Services (TFS), or other source control tools.
- Telerik Controls, Progress DevCraft, or Kendo UI.
- Application system design and architecture.
- Additional Azure services, including:
- Azure Service Bus

- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
- Previous experience in the education or government sector.

Key Responsibilities
- Review business requirements and design specifications to understand project deliverables.
- Design, develop, and unit test new application features and solutions.
- Enhance and maintain existing web applications and backend processes.
- Identify, debug, and resolve application defects.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, QA, Operations, developers, and leadership.
- Provide estimates for development tasks and deliverables.
- Participate in Scrum activities, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Participate in software design discussions and code reviews.
- Coordinate with Network Services to ensure development environments are available.
- Work with Operations teams to build and deploy applications to appropriate environments.
- Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and application maintenance.

- Hybrid work arrangement: in-office attendance twice a month and during the first week.
