Senior Full Stack .NET Developer – Contract


Location: Dublin, Ireland

Working Arrangement: Hybrid – 2 days onsite / 3 days remote

Contract Duration: 12 months

Availability: October 2026

Language: Fluent English (C2)

Intellect is assisting a public-sector client in the recruitment of an experienced Senior Full Stack .NET Developer for a long-term contract opportunity in Dublin.

We are seeking a highly experienced software developer with a strong background in Microsoft technologies, enterprise web applications, APIs, SQL Server and identity and access management.

The successful candidate will join an internal project team working across existing and new web applications, public-facing registration systems, student information systems and associated APIs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide full-stack development services across existing and new enterprise web applications.
  • Develop, maintain and support Microsoft technology-based solutions using .NET, C#, MVC and T-SQL.
  • Analyse and interrogate datasets, SQL queries and reports, ensuring accurate and reliable outputs.
  • Design, develop, test and maintain APIs supporting secure data exchange between internal, external and third-party systems.
  • Implement and support identity and access management using Microsoft Entra ID, including authentication and authorisation.
  • Work with OpenID Connect/OAuth and related authentication mechanisms.
  • Apply secure development practices to public-facing web applications.
  • Produce clean, maintainable and well-tested code using object-oriented design principles and established design patterns.
  • Write and maintain appropriate unit tests.
  • Contribute throughout the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and solution design through development, testing, deployment and maintenance.
  • Work closely with testing, support, business requirements and internal project teams.
  • Produce technical documentation, handover materials and knowledge-transfer documentation.


Essential Technical Skills

Candidates should have recent, demonstrable experience in the following areas:

  • Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD
  • Microsoft SQL Server / MSSQL / T-SQL
  • Front-end web development
  • RESTful APIs / API development

Experience Required (Mandatory)

  • Minimum 15 years' practical experience in web software development.
  • Experience delivering medium- and large-scale software projects.
  • Strong hands-on experience writing production code and unit tests.
  • Experience across the complete software development lifecycle, from analysis and design through development, testing, deployment and maintenance.
  • Proven experience developing enterprise-level software solutions.
  • Strong understanding of security considerations for public-facing web applications.
  • Experience working with APIs and integrating multiple systems.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Entra ID in medium- or large-scale web applications.


Desirable Experience

Experience working with further education, education or student-information systems would be advantageous.

Experience with systems such as PLSS/FETCH or NPDB would be beneficial but is not essential.

Qualifications

  • Degree-level qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent industry experience/qualifications.

Working Arrangement

The role is based in Dublin with a hybrid working arrangement.

The expected working pattern is:

2 days onsite / 3 days working remotely

Working hours are generally Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day between 08:30 and 17:30, excluding breaks.

Occasional onsite meetings will be required to facilitate collaboration with testing, support, business requirements and project teams.
