New Vision Software Pty Ltd (NVS) is looking for experienced .NET Developers for an exciting long-term contract opportunity based in Canberra, ACT.

Position: .NET Developer

Location: Canberra, ACT

Work Arrangement: Hybrid

Contract Duration: Until 30 June 2027, with a possible 12-month extension

Expected Start: November 2026

Working Hours: Up to 40 hours per week

Security Clearance: Active NV1 Clearance Mandatory

About the Role

We are seeking skilled and experienced .NET Developers to join a dynamic technology team working on enterprise application development, modernisation, and enhancement initiatives.

The successful candidates will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and supporting enterprise applications using C#, .NET Framework, modern .NET, Web APIs, SQL, and Microsoft technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications using C#, .NET Framework, and modern .NET.
• Participate in the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Develop and maintain RESTful Web APIs and SQL-based backend solutions.
• Create and maintain automated application build and deployment scripts.
• Work within Agile development teams using Azure DevOps.
• Support cloud-based application development and modernisation initiatives.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex application and production issues.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-documented, and testable code.
• Conduct peer reviews, code reviews, and quality assurance activities.
• Collaborate with technical teams, business analysts, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Contribute to technical analysis, solution design, system integration, and continuous improvement.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience in C#, .NET Framework, and modern .NET development.
• Experience with Visual Studio, Web APIs, SQL, and backend development.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and SDLC processes.
• Experience developing automated build and deployment scripts.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-based application development.
• Experience using Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and version control.
• Ability to develop clean, scalable, well-documented, and testable code.
• Experience conducting peer reviews and code quality assessments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with enterprise applications and complex integrations.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage priorities and deliver outcomes within agreed timelines.

Desirable Skills

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience with cloud technologies, particularly Microsoft Azure.
• Experience in technical analysis, architecture, and solution design.
• Experience implementing end-to-end system integrations.
• Experience working in large enterprise or government environments.
• Familiarity with Miro, Microsoft Office Suite, and project management tools.

Mandatory Requirements

• Must hold an active NV1 security clearance prior to commencement.
• Must be available to work in Canberra, ACT, under hybrid working arrangements.
• Candidates must be locally based in Canberra. Interstate relocation or long-distance commuting arrangements will not be considered.
