DoW SkillBridge Fellowship - Threat Intel Analyst

Join a team responsible for the independent collection, analysis, and interpretation of cyber and non-cyber threat intelligence to support enterprise risk initiatives. In this vital role, the analyst provides actionable assessments to technical and non-technical teams, bridging the gap between raw intelligence and operational risk. Professionals regularly participate in intelligence sharing, contribute to internal and external reporting, and may lead small projects or research initiatives.

Responsible for the independent collection, analysis, and interpretation of cyber and non-cyber threat intelligence to support enterprise risk initiatives. In this vital role, the analyst provides actionable assessments to technical and non-technical teams, bridging the gap between raw intelligence and operational risk. Professionals regularly participate in intelligence sharing, contribute to internal and external reporting, and may lead small projects or research initiatives.

• Independently analyze and correlate threat data from diverse sources—internal data sets, external intelligence feeds, law enforcement advisories, and security communities—to identify patterns and potential risks.
• Produce comprehensive threat assessments, technical reports, and intelligence briefings tailored to audiences ranging from security engineers to executive leadership.
• Collaborate with incident response, vulnerability management, SOC, and IT teams to provide context for alerts, guide investigation priorities, and support mitigation efforts.
• Detect and track trends in the threat landscape, such as new ransomware strains, supply chain threats, and geopolitical developments impacting risk to the enterprise or the financial services sector.
• Participate in threat intelligence sharing communities or Information Sharing and Analysis Centers (ISACs) to exchange timely threat data and best practices.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• 2+ years in an intelligence, cyber threat intelligence or information security role with experience working in cybersecurity tools, multiple intelligence sources and threat intelligence platforms.
• Demonstrated proficiency in research methodologies, threat intelligence platforms (TIPs), and the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
• Ability to correlate IOCs to alerts from a variety of different technologies, including IDS/IPS, firewall, proxies, and anti-virus across multiple platforms.
• Proficiency in threat detection, analysis and risk assessment techniques.
• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Clear, concise communication skills for both technical documentation and non-technical explanations.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity or related field or the equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
• Desired - GCTI, Sec+.

Salary: $97,000 - $165,600 annual (Potential salary if hired by Navy Federal as a full-time employee: SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from Navy Federal, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members)
