The Role

We are seeking an experienced Interior Architecture Manager to lead interior architecture strategy, design development, technical coordination, project delivery, quality assurance, and design management across multiple interior projects.

The ideal candidate will combine strong architectural and design expertise with project leadership, technical knowledge, stakeholder management, and commercial awareness to deliver high-quality interior environments from concept through construction and completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement interior architecture strategies, standards, design principles, and project guidelines.
  • Lead interior architecture projects from concept development through detailed design, documentation, construction, and handover.
  • Translate project briefs, functional requirements, brand objectives, and user needs into effective interior design solutions.
  • Develop spatial planning concepts, layouts, circulation strategies, functional zones, and interior environments.
  • Coordinate architectural, interior, structural, MEP, lighting, acoustic, technology, and specialist design requirements.
  • Lead concept design, schematic design, design development, and technical documentation phases.
  • Review drawings, specifications, material schedules, finishes, details, and design documentation.
  • Ensure design intent is maintained throughout design development and project execution.
  • Establish design standards for finishes, materials, furniture, fixtures, fittings, lighting, partitions, ceilings, flooring, and architectural elements.
  • Develop and maintain interior design libraries, material palettes, specifications, and approved product standards.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and specialist designers.
  • Lead design coordination meetings and resolve interdisciplinary design issues.
  • Review consultant and contractor submissions for design quality, technical compliance, and alignment with approved requirements.
  • Manage design deliverables, drawing schedules, review cycles, approvals, and project milestones.
  • Establish quality-control processes for interior architecture documentation and design deliverables.
  • Conduct design reviews, constructability reviews, technical reviews, and value-engineering assessments.
  • Identify design risks, coordination issues, technical constraints, and potential project impacts.
  • Develop practical design solutions that balance aesthetics, functionality, constructability, cost, schedule, and maintenance requirements.
  • Coordinate interior architectural details including doors, partitions, ceilings, flooring, wall treatments, joinery, stairs, and built-in elements.
  • Coordinate furniture, fixtures, equipment, and specialist interior elements with relevant teams.
  • Review material samples, mockups, prototypes, shop drawings, and technical submissions.
  • Conduct site inspections to verify design implementation, workmanship, materials, finishes, and detailing.
  • Identify construction deviations and coordinate corrective actions with project teams.
  • Support project commissioning, snagging, inspections, and final handover.
  • Coordinate with Procurement teams on material specifications, approved suppliers, lead times, and procurement requirements.
  • Evaluate materials and products based on quality, performance, sustainability, availability, cost, and design intent.
  • Support tender documentation, contractor selection, technical evaluations, and design-related procurement activities.
  • Review contractor proposals, substitutions, alternatives, and value-engineering recommendations.
  • Manage design changes, approvals, revisions, and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure appropriate change-control processes are followed for design modifications.
  • Monitor project budgets and identify opportunities to optimize design and material costs without compromising quality.
  • Coordinate with Project Management teams to align design activities with overall project schedules.
  • Develop design programs, resource plans, deliverable schedules, and project priorities.
  • Manage interior architects, designers, coordinators, consultants, and specialist resources.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and design leadership to project teams.
  • Review team performance and ensure deliverables meet quality, schedule, and project requirements.
  • Promote collaboration between creative, technical, commercial, and construction teams.
  • Incorporate accessibility, sustainability, wellness, energy efficiency, durability, and user-experience considerations into design solutions.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, fire and life-safety requirements, accessibility standards, planning requirements, and project regulations.
  • Coordinate with authorities and specialist consultants on relevant approvals where required.
  • Monitor emerging interior architecture trends, materials, technologies, fabrication methods, and sustainable design practices.
  • Evaluate innovative materials, digital design tools, parametric workflows, visualization technologies, and construction techniques.
  • Support BIM coordination and ensure interior architecture information is accurately represented within project models.
  • Review 3D models, renderings, visualizations, material boards, and presentation materials.
  • Prepare executive-level design presentations and communicate design recommendations to clients and senior stakeholders.
  • Manage client feedback, design approvals, expectations, and project communications.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, design records, approvals, specifications, and correspondence.
  • Conduct post-project reviews and identify lessons learned for future design and delivery improvements.
  • Provide management with regular reports covering design progress, quality, risks, budgets, resources, and project performance.

Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate should have strong experience in interior architecture, architectural design, interior design, hospitality design, commercial interiors, residential development, workplace design, retail, mixed-use, or high-end built-environment projects, preferably within an international design or construction environment.

The candidate should demonstrate:

  • Strong knowledge of interior architecture principles, spatial planning, design development, and technical documentation.
  • Proven experience leading interior architecture projects from concept through construction and handover.
  • Strong understanding of architectural materials, finishes, detailing, joinery, furniture, fixtures, and interior systems.
  • Experience coordinating architecture, structural, MEP, lighting, acoustics, technology, and specialist disciplines.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, fire and life safety, accessibility, and relevant technical requirements.
  • Experience reviewing drawings, specifications, shop drawings, material samples, and contractor submissions.
  • Strong understanding of constructability, site coordination, and quality-control processes.
  • Experience managing consultants, contractors, suppliers, and specialist design partners.
  • Strong project-management, scheduling, budgeting, and resource-management capabilities.
  • Excellent design-review and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency with relevant design and documentation tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, BIM platforms, Adobe Creative Suite, and visualization software.
