About Opora
OPORA is a Dutch non-profit foundation based in Amsterdam that applies social innovation to improve the systems people rely on to live better lives. Since 2022, we have supported displaced Ukrainians and other vulnerable groups across four core areas: access to health, access to justice, democratic engagement, and social inclusion.
Role Summary
As an independent mental health professional within the Mental Health Advisory team, you provide psychological expertise, advice, training and preventive interventions in Dutch — strengthening our capacity to support professionals and organisations working with Ukrainians and other crisis-affected communities, while helping develop mental health programmes for children and adolescents.
Key Responsibilities
Provide independent psychological advice and consultation in Dutch to organisations and professionals supporting Ukrainians and other crisis-affected communities.
Design, adapt and deliver trauma-informed and culturally sensitive training for Dutch-speaking professionals, including topics such as mental health, trauma, intercultural communication, conflict and psychological support.
Facilitate intervision sessions for professionals, creating a structured and psychologically safe space for peer reflection, case discussion, knowledge sharing and professional learning.
Translate findings and recommendations from needs assessments into practical, evidence-informed mental health advice and organisational support approaches.
Contribute psychological expertise to the Teens Resilience Academy, including adapting the programme and supporting its delivery.
Develop, design and adapt preventive, early-intervention and other psychological support programmes for different target groups and contexts, with a focus on resilience, mental health promotion and psychosocial wellbeing.
Collaborate with other Mental Health Advisory specialists to develop multidisciplinary approaches, programmes and recommendations.
