IIS is seeking a Dynatrace Platform Engineer to join our Professional Services Team. In this client- and stakeholder-facing role, you will configure, implement, and optimize the Dynatrace Unified Observability Platform across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Dynatrace implementation and administration, with a focus on PowerConnect App implementation, configuration, and customization for SAP observability. You will help engineering and operations teams improve application performance, reduce mean time to resolution (MTTR), and establish effective observability practices.

You will work independently on defined engagements while collaborating with senior architects on complex technical initiatives and customer projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead PowerConnect App implementation, configuration, and customization within Dynatrace to extend observability into SAP environments.
• Customize and maintain PowerConnect dashboards, log processing, and metric extraction rules to align with customer SAP landscapes and business processes.
• Onboard applications, infrastructure, and cloud workloads across AWS, Azure, or GCP, including Kubernetes and Docker environments.
• Design, develop, and maintain custom dashboards, alerting profiles, workflows, and analytics using Dynatrace Query Language (DQL) and Grail.
• Monitor application performance and availability, troubleshoot technical issues, and perform root-cause analysis using Dynatrace Davis AI insights.
• Configure Synthetic Monitoring, Real User Monitoring (RUM), Application Performance Monitoring (APM), and Log Monitoring.
• Conduct platform health assessments and architecture reviews, providing actionable recommendations and best practices.
• Integrate Dynatrace with IT service management and collaboration tools, including ServiceNow, Jira, and Slack.
• Support OpenTelemetry and distributed-tracing initiatives across microservices architectures.
• Collaborate with Product Development and Product Support teams to improve system functionality, performance, and reliability.
• Conduct customer enablement workshops, technical training sessions, and operational review meetings.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, implementation guides, and operational runbooks.
• Mentor junior consultants and contribute to internal observability standards and best practices.

Required Qualifications

• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 1–3 years of experience in Application Performance Management (APM), observability, or related IT infrastructure roles.
• At least 1 year of hands-on experience implementing and administering Dynatrace or comparable APM and observability tools.
• Practical experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Working knowledge of containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with programming or scripting languages such as Java, .NET, Python, or JavaScript.
• Understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and modern web application architectures.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical findings and business impact to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Dynatrace Certified Associate or Dynatrace Certified Professional certification.
• Previous consulting, client-facing, or project management experience.
• Familiarity with OpenTelemetry, Grail, DQL, and Davis AI-driven anomaly detection.
• Experience with SAP environments, including S/4HANA, ECC, BW, PI/PO, or SAP HANA.
• Experience with PowerConnect or similar SAP-to-observability integration tools.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and GitLab CI/CD.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
• Exposure to relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, or DB2.
• ITIL Foundation certification.
