Role overview
Lula Direct is our first-party ordering platform. Lula Direct gives convenience retailers branded web and native storefronts to sell directly to their customers, with real-time inventory, promotions, and loyalty built in. It's live with chains across the country and is growing fast. We want it to continue to be the best online shopping experience in convenience retail, and then to go beyond what anyone in the industry is doing.
We're looking for an e-commerce-centric product lead who can both think and build. You'll set a roadmap and vision, and you'll also help design the entire experience. You'll work alongside our wider product team to bring a shopper-experience lens and the best e-commerce patterns. This is a hands-on, part-time role reporting directly to our CPO.
Key responsibilities
Set the shopper-experience vision: Define best-in-class for Lula Direct across the entire funnel: browse, search, product pages, cart, checkout, and reorder. Turn that into a clear, prioritized roadmap with the product team.
Design it yourself: Create flows, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and clickable prototypes. Start with the storefront and store page, category navigation, search, product detail pages, and item cards.
Fix conversion leaks: Find and remove friction between first visit and completed order, such as letting shoppers browse before entering an address, showing fees and totals upfront, fast add-to-cart, guest checkout, and saved payments. Base decisions on data and session review, not opinion.
Make discovery great for retail catalogs: Convenience stores carry thousands of SKUs plus made-to-order food. Design taxonomy, aisles, search, merchandising shelves, deal badges, and age-restricted item flows that work for a 100-item store and a 3,000-item store.
Write requirements: Turn designs into product requirements with clear scope, working alongside engineering.
Benchmark the market: Keep a running teardown of leading online ordering, grocery, and delivery experiences, and bring the best ideas back.
Talk to shoppers and merchants: Run quick usability tests and merchant interviews to validate ideas before we build them.
Bring visionary innovation: Shape where Lula Direct goes next.

Qualifications
Must-haves
5+ years of product management for consumer e-commerce, online ordering, grocery or delivery products, with a track record of driving outcomes that measurably improved conversion or retention.
Strong, hands-on design skills. Your portfolio shows flows, UI, and prototypes you made yourself.
Deep knowledge of e-commerce UX patterns: search, merchandising, product pages, cart, and checkout.
Able to write clear product requirements and work directly with engineers to scope and ship.
Comfortable with data: funnel analysis, A/B tests, and session recordings.
Proficient with AI tools such as Claude, Grok, and other AI assistants in daily work, for example, research, teardowns, prototyping, and drafting specs.
You take ownership, talk to customers, and move fast. You're comfortable working fully remote.
Nice-to-haves
Experience at an ordering/e-commerce company directly within the grocery or convenience industry.
Experience with multi-tenant, white-label, or B2B2C storefront products.
Experience with age-restricted products (tobacco, alcohol) or online SNAP/EBT.
Experience with AI-driven personalization, recommendations, or agentic commerce.
