In our roles you will be responsible for:

• Supporting analysis, modelling, and structuring of financing transactions
• Contributing to credit assessments, market research, and internal presentations
• Assisting in portfolio monitoring and preparation of client materials

For you to succeed in these roles, you’ll need to have:

• Strong academic background in Finance, Business, or a related field
• Fluency in English
• Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail

About our roles:

This opportunity connects high-potential talent with future roles across SMBC’s Corporate & Investment Banking and Finance platforms. You will contribute to core business activities while gaining insight into complex financial transactions and decision-making processes.

You will interact with a broad range of stakeholders, including front-office teams, risk management, and product specialists across multiple regions.

Our roles will enable you to:

• Support live transactions and strategic financing initiatives
• Conduct financial analysis, market research, and company benchmarking
• Assist in preparing credit applications and internal materials
• Contribute to portfolio monitoring and performance analysis
• Develop professional communication skills through client-focused work

What will you bring to the roles?

• Ongoing or completed studies in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline
• Strong analytical mindset with an interest in financial markets
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Effective communication and teamwork skills

Desirable:

• Previous internship experience in banking or financial services
• Basic knowledge of financial modelling or accounting
• Additional European language skills
