Job Overview:
Lindner Center of Hope is a nationally renowned psychiatric center of excellence located in Mason, Ohio, committed to providing state of the art care to patients at all levels of care. We continue to expand our services and are looking for an Eating Disorder Therapist to join our team. Our therapy team includes licensed psychologists, social workers, and counselors. We have the largest medical staff of any freestanding psychiatric hospital, allowing you to have access to many professional resources. LCOH is part of the UC Health network and has an affiliation with Mayo Clinic.
The Eating Disorders Therapist will spend approximately 9 hours per week providing individual therapy, companion meals, and group therapy in the Eating Disorders Track within the Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program. The therapist is expected to be on-site Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. In addition, the Eating Disorders Therapist will provide outpatient treatment, conducting psychosocial assessments and providing individual, group, and/or family therapy. This position will be a hybrid mix of telehealth and in-person. The Eating Disorder Therapist will work with Lindner Center of HOPE psychologists, social workers, counselors, dietitians, advanced practice nurses, and psychiatrists to meet the needs of patients and their families.
The ideal candidate for this position has at least one year of experience treating patients with eating disorders, preferably in higher level of care settings. Our team promotes anti-diet and Health at Every Size messaging and the expectation is that all team therapists center their clinical work around these principles. Having a background in at least one of the following treatment modalities is required: Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Radically-Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and/or Family-Based Treatment.
Essential Functions:
- Perform psychosocial assessments for patients and/or families.
- Formulate, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Collaborate with Lindner Center of Hope (LCOH) social workers, psychologists, psychiatrists and other treatment team members.
- Maintain knowledge of external resources for patient needs.
- Perform all required patient care documentation accurately, legibly, and within expected time. Documentation is concise, pertinent and meets the professions and departments’ documentation standards. Oral reporting is clear, concise, relevant, and timely.
- Liaison with community agencies; participate in area activities related to mental health.
- Maintain current licensure and participate in continuing education to maintain competency in area of practice.
- Participate in departmental and LCOH quality improvement efforts; ensure peer review standards are met.
- Participate in community education and outreach.

- Must have flexible eating behaviors to be able to eat companion meals with patients with eating disorder diagnoses.
Required Education
Master's Degree or higher:
- For LPCC: Degree must be from a clinical mental health counseling program, clinical rehabilitation counseling program, or addiction counseling program accredited by the council for accreditation of counseling and related educational programs “CACREP.”
- For LISW: Degree must be in social work from a CSWE accredited program.
- For IMFT: Degree must be from a program identified as marriage and family therapy (also referred to as "MFT").
- For PhD or PsyD: Degree must be in psychology from an APA accredited program
Required Training/Certifications:
- For LPCC: State of Ohio Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).
- For LISW: State of Ohio Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW).
- For IMFT: State of Ohio Independent Family and Marriage Therapist (IMFT).
- For PsyD/PhD: State of Ohio Licensed Psychologist (PsyD or PhD)
- Experience with Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and/or Family-Based Treatment.
- Alignment with Health at Every Size principles
Additional Qualifications Considered:
- Doctorate Degree in Social Work or Counseling.
- Licensed Independent Social Worker with supervision designation (LISW-S).
- Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with supervision designation (LPCC-S).
- Licensed Independent Marriage and Family Therapist with supervision designation (IMFT-S).
- At least 5 years’ experience working as a therapist in an outpatient setting working with a relevant patient populations with at least 1 year of experience working with individuals with eating disorder diagnoses
- Knowledge of Assessment and Counseling practices and principles.
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate and work with others to ensure the best clinical outcome for patients and families.

Physical Requirements:
To effectively care for patients, employees must be able to see, talk, and hear coworkers, patients, and others.
