Description
Beveridge & Diamond, P.C., the foremost national corporate environmental law firm, is seeking an eDiscovery Project Manager to lead the planning and execution of complex electronic discovery matters across the litigation lifecycle.
Working under the general direction of the Director of Litigation Support & eDiscovery, the Project Manager serves as the primary operational lead for assigned matters and partners with attorneys, litigation support professionals, review teams, clients, and external service providers to deliver efficient, accurate, and defensible discovery solutions. The role applies advanced eDiscovery expertise and independent judgment to manage competing priorities, identify and mitigate project risks, recommend technical approaches, and maintain accountability for project outcomes.
The Project Manager operates with significant autonomy in the execution of assigned matters while escalating substantive legal decisions and significant strategic, financial, staffing, technology-investment, or departmental matters to the Director or responsible case team.
At Beveridge & Diamond, we do not just practice environmental law—we define it. With more than 170 lawyers across seven U.S. offices and a legacy spanning five decades, we are The Environmental Law Firm. We combine the sophistication and reach of larger firms with the focus and agility of a boutique, counseling the world’s largest companies, industry associations, and municipalities on complex and rapidly evolving environmental issues.
Responsibilities
Project Management and Execution
- Develop, implement, and maintain project plans for assigned eDiscovery matters, including scope, schedules, milestones, resource requirements, dependencies, quality requirements, and deliverables.
- Manage daily project activities across the discovery lifecycle, from initial planning, preservation, and data collection through processing, review, production, and project closeout.
- Coordinate assignments and workflow sequencing among litigation support analysts, attorneys, review teams, clients, and external vendors.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential delays or resource constraints, and implement corrective actions within established authority.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects while ensuring compliance with established deadlines, requirements, and quality standards.
eDiscovery Workflow and Technical Coordination

- Coordinate preservation and collection activities under attorney direction, including custodians, data sources, collection status, secure transfers, chain-of-custody documentation, and identification of gaps requiring follow-up.
- Translate attorney-approved discovery requirements into processing and production specifications and work with technical personnel and vendors to confirm data completeness, metadata accuracy, document relationships, and resolution of processing exceptions.
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate use of eDiscovery tools, search methods, early case assessment, analytics, technology-assisted review, and related technologies.
- Support implementation and validation of AI-enabled discovery workflows, including data preparation, issue-prompt refinement, workflow configuration, pilot testing, sampling, quality control, and documentation, in coordination with the Director and case team.
- Coordinate technical troubleshooting and resolution of workflow issues.
Budget and Resource Management
- Prepare project cost estimates and budgets based on anticipated scope, data volumes, staffing, hosting, and vendor requirements.
- Monitor project expenditures, resource utilization, and progress against approved budgets.
- Identify and communicate potential budget variances, cost implications, and opportunities for improved efficiency.
- Coordinate vendor resources, services, and deliverables to support project objectives.
- Maintain accurate project records to support billing, cost recovery, and financial reporting.
Quality Assurance and Risk Management
- Establish and oversee project-level quality assurance procedures for data processing, review workflows, and productions.
- Perform or coordinate production quality control, including checks of production scope, redactions, privilege exclusions, metadata, load files, and output specifications; resolve discrepancies and obtain required approvals before release.
- Monitor technical deliverables for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with established requirements.
- Identify operational, technical, scheduling, and resource risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures within established authority.
- Escalate significant issues affecting discovery obligations, project scope, costs, or case strategy to appropriate stakeholders and maintain documentation supporting defensible discovery practices.
Attorney and Stakeholder Coordination
- Serve as the primary operational point of contact for assigned eDiscovery projects and lead appropriate kickoff and status meetings.
- Communicate project status, milestones, risks, budget considerations, and technical requirements to attorneys and case teams.
- Coordinate with Staff Attorneys and case teams regarding document review workflows, batching plans, reviewer guidance, review protocols, privilege-review quality checks, privilege-log preparation, and progress reporting under attorney direction.
- Translate technical information into practical recommendations that support informed case-team decisions.
- Facilitate communication and accountability among internal personnel, external vendors, and other project stakeholders.
Related Litigation Data Projects and Process Improvement
- Coordinate related litigation data projects, including Plaintiff Fact Sheet tracking, deficiency monitoring, reporting, and case or transcript management, as assigned.
- Coordinate approved matter closeout, archival, and data disposition activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve discovery workflows, project management practices, and operational efficiency.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures, templates, and quality assurance protocols.
- Train and provide guidance to case teams and internal personnel regarding established eDiscovery processes, matter workflows, and technology, and support the Director’s evaluation and rollout of new legal technology.
