About the Role

Bionews is looking for an Editor to help manage the day-to-day execution of our unbranded commercial content programs. These programs, consisting of multiple media types such as interactive guides and article hubs, aim to educate chronic disease communities about their conditions, from understanding them on a molecular level to navigating advocacy in the clinic.

You will help to run the production engine — briefs, outlines, edits, building webpages, and workflow — so that content moves from assignment to publication on time while fitting our house standard.

Work Format

  • Full-time, remote, with core-hours overlap across U.S. time zones.
  • Infrequent travel for team meetings may be required.

What You'll Do

Editorial execution

  • Build article outlines in collaboration with our SEO team.
  • Edit writer and freelancer drafts for accuracy, structure, tone, and patient/caregiver-first clarity before they go to fact checking and copy desk.
  • Integrate SEO keywords naturally and confirm on-page optimization before publication.
  • Build and publish program pages and files in WordPress.
  • Write and edit copy for other client program content, including interactive guides, landing pages, and similar assets.

Workflow and pipeline management

  • Assist the Senior Director of Commercial Programs in moving workflow through Jira, a project management software.
  • Coordinate hand-offs with involved teams.

Team leadership

  • Assign work to freelance writers, balancing capacity and deadlines.
  • Give clear, actionable feedback and coach writers on house style and methodology.

Commercial program support

  • Ensure content balances client asks with editorial independence standards.
  • Prepare status updates and delivery reports for the Senior Director of Commercial Programs and Client Success Management Team.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of editorial experience.
  • Experience editing health, medical, or science content.
  • Proven ability to run a high-volume content pipeline with many concurrent deadlines.
  • Knowledge of SEO fundamentals and content structure for search and AI discoverability.
  • Working knowledge of WordPress and Jira (or similar CMS and project management tools).
  • Experience managing freelancers, including giving direct, constructive feedback.
  • Comfort working with unbranded commercial content while protecting editorial integrity.
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and calm under shifting priorities.

Preferred:

  • Existing familiarity with the rare disease, chronic illness, or broader patient advocacy landscape
  • Working knowledge of WordPress, Slack, Google Drive, and Jira (or similar CMS and project management tools).
