As our Editor, you’ll support Questex’s success by:
- Edit daily biotech news stories, features and analysis for accuracy, clarity, structure and impact.
- Report and write your own daily news stories, features and other enterprise coverage.
- Work closely with the senior editor to set daily coverage priorities and identify the stories Fierce Biotech should own.
- Help manage the daily Fierce Biotech newsletter, including selecting and ordering stories, writing newsletter copy and ensuring it is ready to publish on deadline.
- Take the lead on daily editorial operations when the senior editor is away.
- Move quickly on breaking news while helping reporters identify smart follow-ups, broader trends and opportunities for deeper reporting.
- Help reporters sharpen story angles, strengthen reporting and develop their voices.
- Contribute to special reports, recurring editorial franchises and other newsroom initiatives.
- Participate in Fierce events, including moderating panels and interviews, helping develop editorial programming and representing the brand onstage.
- Collaborate with colleagues across Fierce Biotech, Fierce Pharma and the broader newsroom on major stories and projects.
Who you are as a Team Member:

Your Experience and Education include:
- 2-4 years of professional journalism experience, with experience covering biotech.
- Editing experience and the ability to confidently edit daily news stories on tight deadlines.
- A strong understanding of the biotech industry, including drug development, clinical trials, financing, dealmaking, regulation and the companies and people shaping the sector.
- The ability to report and write quickly without sacrificing accuracy, context or clarity.
- Strong news judgment and an instinct for which developments matter most to Fierce Biotech’s audience.
- Experience working in a fast-moving digital newsroom.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills and a team-first approach.
- An interest in live journalism and the ability to moderate interviews or panel discussions in front of an industry audience.

The expected salary for this position ranges from $70,000 to $80,000. Salary offers are based on a broad scope of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market, geographic and organizational factors are also considered.
