About the Role
The Education Technology Consultant delivers technology consulting engagements for schools and districts. This is an hourly role with a varied portfolio spanning technology assessments, procurement, systems and data projects, and federal E-Rate engagements.
You may lead a current-state technology review, develop requirements for a procurement, support a systems or data initiative, and manage E-Rate activities across multiple clients.
Our Practice Lead sets technical and compliance standards, reviews your work, and provides oversight for E-Rate filings.
What You Will Do
Technology Consulting
Deliver technology assessments and planning engagements, including current-state reviews, requirements gathering, stakeholder interviews, and recommendations.
Help clients develop technology procurement requirements and evaluation criteria.
Support systems, data, infrastructure, and technology adoption projects.
Manage project milestones, risks, decisions, and client communication.
E-Rate Consulting
Prepare and manage Forms 470, 471, and 486 and supporting documentation.
Coordinate competitive bidding, vendor questions, bid evaluation, and procurement records.
Prepare PIA responses and escalate eligibility or compliance questions when appropriate.
Support BEAR and SPI invoicing and related registration requirements.
Maintain accurate client engagement files, compliance records, and filing calendars.
Identify and escalate potential conflicts of interest or compliance concerns.
Requirements
What We Are Looking For
Experience delivering technology, consulting, or project work for schools, districts, public agencies, or similar organizations.
Working knowledge of networks, wireless infrastructure, systems, devices, and education technology environments.
Strong project management, documentation, and client communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines independently.
Sound judgment when addressing procurement, eligibility, compliance, or conflict-of-interest questions.
E-Rate experience, including familiarity with USAC processes and filings, strongly preferred.
What Success Looks Like
You deliver engagements on schedule, maintain accurate and review-ready documentation, meet critical filing deadlines, communicate effectively with clients, and escalate risks or compliance concerns before they become problems.
Location and Travel
Hybrid work is anchored to our New York City office at 165 Broadway, 23rd Floor. Fully remote candidates in the continental United States may be considered if they can support Eastern Time client hours. Travel is approximately 10 to 20 percent.

Compensation
$65 to $90 per hour, depending on experience. Hours may vary based on project demand, with increased E-Rate activity typically occurring from October through March.
