Education Account Executive | Zero Gravity | London-hybrid | £45k-£60k base, £76.5k-£102k OTE

Talent is everywhere. Opportunity is not. Help Zero Gravity change that, one school at a time.

Who Zero Gravity are

Zero Gravity is a tech platform connecting students from low-income backgrounds to university and career opportunities. Its programme is free for students, forever, and members are 2.3 times more likely to get into a top university. Over 23,000 students have been supported to date.

In April 2026 Zero Gravity launched an AI tutor that coaches students using the Socratic method rather than handing over answers. Early engagement and attainment results have been strong, and the company has since won a government contract to scale the tutor across the UK. Zero Gravity is a Certified B Corp, holds ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus, and has been covered by the BBC, The Times and The Guardian.

EQL Tech is Zero Gravity's exclusive recruitment partner for this search. All applications and enquiries for this role are handled by EQL Tech on Zero Gravity's behalf.

Why you will want this role

  • A mission you can sell without spin. You are putting something into schools that changes outcomes for young people, so you win on trust, not pressure.
  • Ground floor, with backing. You will be one of the first four Account Executives, building the sales motion for a product that already has a government contract behind it. What you build, you keep: the playbook, the territory and the relationships.
  • Fast, direct deals. These are short sales to school leaders and trusts, measured in weeks, not formal tenders. You see the results of your work quickly.
  • Real room to grow. A single school can become a trust deal that opens up dozens of schools, and what you learn in the field feeds straight back into product and marketing.
  • Strong rewards. £45k to £60k base, £76.5k to £102k OTE, plus share options.

The role

Zero Gravity is bringing an AI tutor into schools that have never had access to one, and it needs sellers who build their own pipeline and then close it. This is a new-business role in a small, territory-based team led by a player-coach. You own your patch: finding the schools and multi-academy trusts, booking your own demos, and taking each deal from a first conversation to signature.

In the first stretch you are your own business development rep, and that is the opportunity, not the catch. You decide who you call, when and how, and your results are yours. Expect early calls to headteachers, emails and LinkedIn outreach, and four to six demos a week, then discovery, demo, proposal and close.

Discovery is where the best people shine here. You find the business-level problem behind the buying decision, not just the surface need, and build a clear case for why Zero Gravity beats what the school or trust does today. Cycles are short, so you will do this quickly and well.

Zero Gravity is a brand schools are only starting to know, so there is no inbound diary waiting for you. If you want to build a market rather than inherit one, this is a rare chance to do it.

We hire on belief in the mission as much as on sales record. A headteacher can tell within seconds whether a rep believes in what their school stands to gain, and that shows up in the numbers within a quarter.

What you'll actually be doing

  • Building your own pipeline from the first week: researching your territory, cold calling early, emailing, using LinkedIn, and booking around four to six new-business meetings a week
  • Running full-cycle deals: discovery that uncovers the business-level problem, a demo, a clear business case against the school's current way of working, follow-up and close
  • Leading each sales conversation yourself: setting the agenda, keeping to time and steering it back when it drifts
  • Growing a single school relationship into a multi-academy trust or local-authority deal
  • Working alongside the lead for education partnerships, who is a player-coach, and a small team of reps sharing the patch
  • Using the automated sales tooling to keep follow-ups, one-pagers and decks consistent, so your time goes into the relationships that need a human
  • Bringing what you hear from teachers and school leaders back into product and marketing

Where you will be

Central London, 3 days a week in the office, with regular in-person school visits across the rest of the week, some of them long day trips.

Interview process

  1. Informal video discussion with EQL Tech, the recruitment partner running this search
  2. A task and in-person session with the Zero Gravity team, where you will lead a live sales conversation
  3. A values interview with the CEO

How to apply

Submit your CV and answer the short questions on the form. Every application is reviewed by hand.

What you will bring

  • A record of carrying and hitting a new-business number, with most of your pipeline built by you, plus two or more years of quota-carrying new-business sales. We welcome enterprise sellers and high performers from any sector.
  • Experience closing new-business deals yourself, from first conversation to signature, in a short sales cycle
  • Strong discovery: you find the business-level problem behind a buying decision and build a clear business case for why Zero Gravity beats what the buyer does today. You can walk us through how you did it on a real deal.
  • Comfort running four to six demos a week from your own outbound pipeline
  • Experience taking a product from a handful of customers to a repeatable sales motion
  • Day-to-day use of HubSpot, email, LinkedIn, demo software and pipeline management
  • Real belief in the mission: closing the gap between talent and opportunity for young people the system has overlooked. We would love to hear what you have done about it.
  • UK-based, with the right to work here without sponsorship

Not from education or EdTech? Please apply. If you have not sold or worked within education, but have a strong affinity with the mission, and can back it up with experience and achievements as a full-cycle closing Account Executive, or similar, in another sector, we want to hear from you.

Strong signals, but not requirements

  • A structured sales methodology you use and can explain in plain terms, such as MEDDPICC
  • Hands-on interest in what AI can and cannot yet do in a classroom
  • Experience selling into schools, MATs or local authorities, or time spent teaching or working in a school
  • A prospecting process, target list or playbook you built that others use

Compensation, benefits & culture

  • £45,000-£60,000 base per year, £76,500 to £102,000 OTE
  • Central London, hybrid (3 days a week in the office) plus school visits
  • Share options - genuine ownership in the business, not a token gesture
  • Private healthcare, including dental and mental health support, plus gym discounts
  • An annual personal-development allowance to spend on your own growth
  • Equipment set up so you can do your best work from day one
  • Fortnightly team socials on the house, plus bigger quarterly events
  • 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, with extra days off over the Christmas shutdown

Values aren't a poster on the wall here - they're what holds the team, members, partners, donors and investors together as one community, and it shows up in how decisions actually get made.
